Those states which have passed abortion bans have been truly successful. They get all the publicity and support from conservatives and their women are still having abortions.

See, there is this drug which induces abortions. It is relatively safe and, thanks to the Internet, it is being prescribed in foreign countries and shipped to the people who want it. And the states can't figure out how to stop it.

This country is truly great. Politicians can pander to ultra-conservative and religious voters by banning abortions and women can still get abortions without much difficulty with the 'state' not even knowing it.

Just making something illegal doesn't stop it. I can't believe that so very many people didn't learn that from alcohol prohibition.

I was really thinking about passing laws which have no other purpose than social engineering. But, yeah, passing laws does nothing to stop people from doing whatever the law is concerned with, like murder, burglary, blackmail, environmental pollution, corporate/government corruption or speeding.

Actually, no. You are not trying to prevent 'murder of children'. You are trying to make criminals out of women.

If you TRULY were trying to stop abortions, you would be working to fix the social and economic issues in this country which make women choose abortion.

Are we or are we making it less safe for women who will have them and have a greater chance of dying themselves as a result. Frankly, if the baby is not viable I have very little problem with it. I have more problem with women dying who would otherwise be viable.

I was actually thinking more on the line actually PAYING women a family wage, treating them as valuable members of society because they DIDN'T choose abortion instead of as 'fallen women' for becoming pregnant, and arranging for affordable child care instead of heaping more abuse on them by assuming they are going to 'abuse safety nets' and make no effort to improve themselves.

How about we make performing abortions illegal? Then it’s not the woman who is the criminal.

Then, if there’s government assistance needed (if the woman decides to raise her child), we can treat food stamps like WIC, and have a list of foods that are acceptable. And with mandatory drug testing.

That’s a good start. Much better than killing a person in the womb, don’t you think?

They're working exactly as intended: punishing women (who seem to be viewed as mere carriers for babies that will be forgotten and treated as "welfare queens" as soon as they're born). See also: the situation in Alabama where a woman is being tried for manslaughter because her baby was killed after she got into a fight.

And of course, the same ones who weep over unborn fetuses are some of the same ones who have zero problem with """"illegal"""" children in concentration camps.

Most abortions are performed as a means of ridding women of an unwanted pregnancy of a perfectly viable baby, because society since Roe has propaganda'd the notion that it's not the taking of innocent life, because the "fetus" has been dehumanized. Now with medical advancements, we see how wrong this notion is.

The wage scales in America, on average, is like this: A white male makes the most money, a black male makes about 80 percent of that, a white woman makes about 60 percent of that, and a black woman makes about 40 percent of that.

How about we accept that women should be making the same money for the same work as a white male? Then they wouldn't NEED assistance. Let's assume women have the same intelligence that a man has and doesn't NEED us to tell her what foods she can eat. Let's assume that women are no more likely to use drugs than men are and if men don't have to do drug testing neither should women.

Women are NOT inferior beings. It would be really helpful to keep that in mind.
