This is true. I expect, like previously, a lot of them won't qualify for asylum. What I have a hard time with is how they characterized. Anyone motivated enough to uproot their entire life and walk thousands of mile just for a chance strikes me as the sort of people who have the spirit we used celebrate in this country. So why do so many on the right demonize them as "leeches" and "an invasion"?Sure, I don’t doubt that at all.
But that makes them economic migrants, not refugees
How familiar are you with the groups coming here? I heard reports just yesterday, the Chinese groups are flying into Mexico. How did they get out of China? China does not allow anyone to leave without permission. This is true. I expect, like previously, a lot of them won't qualify for asylum. What I have a hard time with is how they characterized. Everyone is saying...How familiar are you with the groups coming here? I heard reports just yesterday, the Chinese groups are flying into Mexico. How did they get out of China? China does not allow anyone to leave without permission.
When they get to Mexico, it is buses and trains they travel on. There are agencies helping them all along the way.
As for leeches, it is the Administration causing that. They are all cutting off those who are waiting to come here legally.
An invasion, yes. We have already been warned several times by the FBI, about the dangers of this.
Because three words out of context don't give me any idea what you are talking about. It is not even a complete sentence. It makes understanding difficult so I asked for clarification. Our government. Medical, food, shelter, education .etc. Why are you asking? You already know this.
Yes. It’s a problem because it’s an election year and polls show it’s a top issue among likely voters
Discretional at 4,000 a day. From my understanding, the law would actually mandate the suspension of the asylum process above 5000 a day and allow for discretional use of that authority at a lesser amount.
How do they journey thousands of miles yet have a fresh set of clothes and a working cell phone?
That's one way to characterize it. Another might be that he continues working for a realistic solution to what's actually going on at the border while ignoring far-right mischaracterizations (e.g. "crisis") of that reality. Why after 3 years of denying there was a problem and having Mayorkas telling us the border is secure, does Biden now think that there is a crisis and he needs legislation to give him the ability to do anything about it?
Are they Chinese "military aged males", perhaps?Everyone is saying...
Cell phones are not expensive?
These have cameras on them, they send selfies when they get in the US. You’re talking in the $1200 rangeNo. They are used in alot of countries with poorer economies than the US.
That's based on what reports I've read of the deal that is being worked out. Of course, the actual text hasn't been released yet, so it's still speculative. What part of the law are you speaking of?
Democrats (including Joe Biden) have always recognized the situation at the border as a crisis, but they tend to think of it as an humanitarian crisis rather than an existential threat to our national sovereignty. He is finally realizing that conservatives see it as the other way around and that he has to acknowledge that if he is to find a solution.
