If you believe Jesus to be on earth during the millennium, why would we need a temple on earth during that time? Can you answer me that?
Only God can answer that question, and I am sure He will at the right time. However, as matters stand, and as Scripture stands, there will be (a) a third Temple in Jerusalem which will be used for the Abomination of Desolation, and (b) during the Millennium, there will be a fourth Temple constructed according to God's plan and for His purposes (Ezekiel 40-47), and the Lord Jesus Christ will be King over Israel.

THIRD TEMPLE
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand; 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: (Mt 24:15,16)

FOURTH TEMPLE
And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel. (Ezek 40:4)...

Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle... And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors. And the doors had two leaves apiece, two turning leaves; two leaves for the one door, and two leaves for the other door. And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as were made upon the walls; and there were thick planks upon the face of the porch without.
(Ezek 41:1,23-25).

As we can see above, God wanted Ezekiel to be extremely aware of everything pertaining to the Millennial Temple and to set his heart upon it, so that Israel would learn some necessary lessons. This "man" who spoke to Ezekiel could very well have been a Theophany of Christ. Since Israel never did learn the meaning of the Temple and its sacrifices as being types of Christ and the Heavenly Sanctuary, perhaps the Lord will be teaching redeemed and restored Israel lessons pertaining to that one great sacrifice for sins on the Cross.

you are a mocker son
You betcher boots I'm a mocker! I mock any Man Made Doctrine that sets our Lord's sacrifice on the Cross at nought and claims that the Church will disappear to be replaced by Temple Judaism and animal sacrifice. Such a doctrine deserves nothing but mockery.

A high risk position to take
Following the Bible instead of DF flapdoodle is risky, ya think? In the words of a tourist trap T-shirt, "Ain't Skeered".

A parallel study of the three Gospel accounts reveals the Abomination of Desolation.

During the time of Christ, the Jews celebrated Hanukka. He was well aware of the first occurrence of the Abomination of Desolation in the temple, when Antiochus Epiphanes set up a statue of Zeus (He had previously claimed he was Zeus) in the temple and had a pig slaughtered on the altar, during 167 BC.

Hanukkah celebrates the cleansing and rededication of the temple which occurred three years after the abomination of desolation by Antiochus in 167 BC.

John 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Therefore, Christ was predicting a second occurrence of the Abomination of Desolation in the Olivet Discourse.

Several events could be a possible desecration of the temple during 70 AD. The Roman standards were posted at the temple site. Sacrifices were made to Titus at the temple site. Also, the behavior of the zealots within the temple itself during the siege is regarded by many as a desecration of the temple.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh(near).
Luk 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Luke’s account above clearly states that the desolation would be near the time that Jerusalem was surrounded by armies. We know the three parallel accounts are referring to the same thing, because the same warning to flee is found in the next verse, in the other accounts.

We know the early Christians did flee from Jerusalem before the final siege.

Anyone today who is looking for a future Abomination of Desolation, would be looking for it's third occurrence.

There is no scriptural account of Israel "fleeing" during the Roman incursions in 70 AD

The event in scripture is still pending [Zechariah 14:4-5; Matthew 24:15-16; Revelation 12:6; 12:14]

The context of the event includes related things that simply cannot be applied to 70 AD

.... and as I say to those who watch for a tribulation temple, there will not be one of the Lord's on the mount during the period [Revelation 11:2]

There are those Israel who desire this today, but the Lord would not recognize any effort .... Israel is still in blindness

And the abomination of desolation is already there as we speak .... the one that the little horn of Daniel's visions will be associated with [2 Thessalonians 2:1-12] .... the pagan temple of his "god"

If it is, it would be the 3rd occurrence.

Did they teach you anything about Hanukkah while you were at Dallas Theological Seminary?

John 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

There is no scriptural account of the Roman incursion either... do you therefore claim it didn't happen?

The third temple, Herod's temple, has already been built and destroyed.

1 Solomon's temple

2 Post-Babylonian exile temple. King Cyrus decreed it to be built and it was finished under King Darius.

3 Herod's temple. King Herod totally destroyed the second temple... including removing the foundation stones... rebuilt and enlarged it.

But if Israel has broken the covenant with the Lord, then is the covenant not broken?
Absolutely not. God does not break his promise. Does Jesus disown you when you sin?

Absolutely not. God does not break his promise. Does Jesus disown you when you sin?

God does not break His part of the Promise, but some of the Fleshly descendants of Abraham did not keep their part.

What was the Promise to Abraham’s Seed?

Gen 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Gen 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

Gen 17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

Gen 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Gen 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
The word everlasting means forever. Nothing in this sin-cursed world lasts forever.

Therefore the everlasting part of the covenant would produce the Seed through which all of the nations will be blessed, which is Jesus Christ.

He is the Seed of Gen. 3:15, John 3:16, and Gal. 3:16.

Gen 17:8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
When the New Heavens and the New Earth come in, we will share it with Abraham and all of the Old Testament believers. It will last forever.

(Heb_11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. )

Gen 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
God told Abraham he and his descendants were to circumcise the male children.

Gen 17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

Gen 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

Gen 17:12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

Gen 17:13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Gen 17:14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
This part of the covenant was conditional. Those not following God's command would be cut off from the covenant Promise.

Gen 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

Gen 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
Sarah produced Isaac through a miracle from God, which provided the One Seed, through which all the nations would be blessed. Gal. 3:16

This part of the covenant was unconditional.

Nobody could stop it, since it was of God.

Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

Gen 17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

Gen 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
This is the everlasting part of the covenant, which produced the One Seed of Gal. 3:16.

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

There were two parts of the Abrahamic Covenant.

One part was conditional upon the descendants of Abraham, doing as God commanded.

The second part would produce the Messiah, and was unconditional.

Many confuse the unconditional part of the promise which would produce the Messiah, with the conditional part of the covenant, which was to depend on the behavior of Abraham's seed.

When viewed in context, these two aspects of the Abrahamic covenant become clear.

................................................................................

Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

..................................................................................

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We are Abraham's seed and inheritors of the everlasting promise.

Jeremiah 32:30-44
30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the Lord.

31 For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

32 Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

33 And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

34 But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

36 And now therefore thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

42 For thus saith the Lord; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

43 And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

44 Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the Lord.

Ezekiel 37:15-28English Standard Version (ESV)
I Will Be Their God, They Shall Be My People
15 The word of the Lord came to me: 16 “Son of man, take a sticka]">[a] and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’ 17 And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. 18 And when your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’ 19 say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah,b]">[b] and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand. 20 When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes, 21 then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. 22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. 23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidingsc]">[c] in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

24 “My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. 25 They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children shall dwell there forever, and David my servant shall be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their landd]">[d] and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 27 My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28 Then the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”

But if Israel has broken the covenant with the Lord, then is the covenant not broken?
Again, no it is not.

Again, God said otherwise...

Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

You can ignore the verse above. However, that will not change it or make it go away.
The Grace of Jesus Christ is the New Covenant. There is no Plan B.

1Pe_2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

You keep confusing Israel of the Flesh with Israel of the Promise...

Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

I confuse nothing with the promise of God...38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
And if you don't believe that you have major problems in your theological belief.

God did not make a promise to those who have bowed to the image of Baal, by rejecting the Son of God.

He made the promise to those who would not bow to Baal, and accepted Christ as their Messiah.

Rom 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

You are confusing your seeds.

I have to get my theological belief from the inspired words of the Apostle Paul and other New Testament writers, instead of the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible.

To look for a future Temple is to look for more types, more shadows that point to Christ. A future Temple would have sacrifices for sin and transgression. That is blasphemous! May Lord have mercy on us.

If animal sacrifices were EVER able to purchase forgiveness from God, Jesus died for nothing. That was never the purpose of the sacrifices. They were to allow the offerer to come into the presence of God in the physical Temple in Jerusalem.
