A Strange Countdown (Eon8)

Im a curious person.

Here, I use this quote from the Silent Hill forum ( I was too lazy to type and explain lol)

What happens in 15 hours from now?

One strange website nobody is able to understand. A countdown is running, right now standing at 15 hours and ticking backwards. 15 hours until "deployment".

Since I know some people here are good with programming and such. Anyone care to explain how people do this? A Hoax? or just trying to freak people out?

Note that the site is from ytmnd... but im still not sure

its interesting to see how people reacted to it. Think about it. Alot of people had an instant addiction to it, just because of a count down timer. I was in an IRC chat room that was only about eon8. Some really interesting theories went on about what it was. On the other hand, now someone has cried wolf. The next time something like this shows up, will it have more meaning and will people over look it because of this?

Quite the experiment that site was. I didn't know about it until after the timer went off though.
