I do not view this conversation as a contest.
I am hoping that I might have educated you a little in the Scriptures.
If by advocate you are speaking about the only mediator between God and man is Christ, Catholics would agree with that too.Necomany is strictly forbidden by the Bible.
I did not say that calling on dead saints was necromany. I just siad that IMO it is not acceptable and make no sense.
The Bible says that the ONLY advocate with the Father is the man God...Jesus Christ. So what would be the point???
Where do the Scriptures teach that the only trustworthy revelation from God is what is recorded in the Scriptures? The names of the seven archangels have come down to us through Hebrew Tradition. Why do you insist that they cannot be true. The names of people such as the thief on the cross, the Samaritan woman at the well, the man born blind and many others have been passed on in the Church despite them not being recorded in Scripture.NO. I am confusing nothing. I am clearly and simply telling you that there are NO angels in the Bible named Raphael and Phanuel. They do no exist!!!!!
She is correct. The Greek word translated as "Prince" is "Άρχων". "Archangel" is a compound word formed by joining "Άρχων" and "άγγελος".You are arguing "Semantics" to validate your thinking.
No mam. That is not the case. "Price" means......RULER!.
If we follow that rule then consider how many times the word "Prince" is used in the Scriptures where is describes despots and killers.
I have a blog entry on this:Is there an example from Scripture of a person on earth invoking a person in heaven?
I have tried to research this question online, even purchases a few books. I have read some of the threads here. But, the essential question is never answered. Where in 6000 yrs of recorded Biblical history (via the Scriptures) is invocation not intercession addressed.
Granted are:
1) That those in heaven pray for those on earth.
2) That those in heaven are alive
3) That those in heaven are aware of our particulars.
Thanks.
Thank you.I have a blog entry on this:
The Biblical Basis For The Doctrine Of “intercession Of The Saints”
Because I have alrwady said that anything that comes from the Apocrypha is "Occultic".
Didn't you just make a case that angels are associated in post #214?There is NO SCRIPTURE that says an angel is associated wiith our salvation!!!
So then if it is seen in the book of Enoch then it is HERESY and Blasphemy!
Why occultic?
Didn't you just make a case that angels are associated in post #214?
Why would Jude quote from a blasphemous book?
No mamn I did not.
I said..........
"The Scripture declares that Michael is the leader of the battle against the devil, and who prevails in heaven against him (Revelation 12:7-8)."
That in NO WAY indicates or suggests that an angel is associated with salvation.
I have to find the reference--later.Jude did not quote from the Book of Enoch.
Here’s the passage in Jude that is said to be a quote from the book of Enoch:
Jude 14-15 ......
"It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “See, the Lord is coming with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all, and to convict everyone of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
It’s pretty clear from this that the writer of the Epistle of Jude claimed to be quoting a very specific individual: the seventh from Adam. Who is this? We find him mentioned in the early chapters of Genesis:
Ge 5:18-24 ......
"When Jared had lived one hundred sixty-two years he became the father of Enoch. Jared lived after the birth of Enoch eight hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty-two years; and he died. When Enoch had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Methuselah. Enoch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah three hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him."
2 Timothy 2:15-16 ........
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Battling Satan is not a part of our salvation?
I have to find the reference--later.
I don't understand. We agree that the person in question is Enoch.
St. Paul writes "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church" Colossians 1:24NO!
Jesus and only Jesus paid the price for our salvation. HE and only HE died to pay for our sins.
We are all oppressed every day by demonic forces as a Christian but that is why Paul said to........."Stand against the wiles of the devil"
1 Enoch 1:9NO!
Jesus and only Jesus paid the price for our salvation. HE and only HE died to pay for our sins.
We are all oppressed every day by demonic forces as a Christian but that is why Paul said to........."Stand against the wiles of the devil"
So Christ defeating the devil had nothing to do with our salvation?NO!
Jesus and only Jesus paid the price for our salvation. HE and only HE died to pay for our sins.
We are all oppressed every day by demonic forces as a Christian but that is why Paul said to........."Stand against the wiles of the devil"

1 Enoch 1:9
Behold, he comes with the myriads of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all, and to destroy all the wicked, and to convict all flesh for all the wicked deeds that they have done, and the proud and hard words that wicked sinners spoke against him.
I am perplexed at such a question.
Jesus dieing and being resurrected paid the price for our salvation.
You as a born again believer are saved from the coming judment because YOUR sins are paid for by Christ.
That does not mean that you as a person will not be oppressed and tempted by Satan your whole life which has nothing to do with being saved.
This is just not as hard as you are trying to make it appear.
And that means absolutely NOTHING as it comes from a book which is OCCULTIC and should be condemned and rejected.
Enoch is not included in the canon of the Catholic or Protestant Bibles. It was also not included in the apocrypha and it must be pointed out that this book has never been included as part of the Jewish Tanakh.
Since it is obviouse that you have not done an indepth study of this subject, allow me to say to you that the Book of Enoch is actually a combination of FIVE (5) productions which you can easily find by using your computer search engine. The writing style changes numerous times and it is know by Bible scholars to have been penned by various authors. This would not be the case if Enoch had written the whole book himself.
What do you mean by price and saved?
Are you kidding me??????
Here is the reason why we are debating. With all due respect to you and out of Christian love for you, YOU my child do not understand the basics of the Christian faith. I am not trying to insult you only pointing out the obviouse.
"PRICE" = WAGES and it means that Jesus Christ paid your penalty for YOUR sin.
Romans 3:23.........
"ALL (YOU and ME) have sinned and come short of the approval of God".
Romans 6:23......
"For the wages (PRICE) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"SAVED" = RESCUED/DELIVERED FROM.
According to the Bible there is a day coming when we all will be judged for what we had done and been in life. Since we ALL are sinners (YOU and ME) we are already guility and are waiting to die and then we will be judged by the Lord Jesus.
Heb 9:27 ........
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. The fixed order for all men is to die once only, and to be judged after death."
Now in order to be found NOT GUILITY one must be forgiven of their sins.
We must own our sin and 1 John says in 1:5........
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
2 Corinthians 5:21, .....
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Now then.....when YOU come to Jesus Christ and accept Him as the PAYMENT for YOUR sin you are then set free from YOUR sin and are then saved from the coming judgment.
Have YOU done that?????
Have YOU accepted Christ as your Saviour. In all honesty, your questions to me do not say that you know what that means.
Why don't you do what the Bible says in Romans 10:9.........
"BELIVE UPON THE LORD JESUS IN YOUR HEART AND SAY WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST"!
