A Real Christian?

Do you have a relationship with Christ? God is a very personal God, and just going through the emotions and motions of church won't get you into heaven. As many have said in this thread, coming to acknowledge Him is the first step. But then, we must show the world the fruits we bear. And for our spirit to bear fruit, we'll need a personal relationship with God first.

God is also a very jealous God. I remember giving a St. Valentine's Day gift to a girl I liked, but she threw the thing in my face (figuratively). I was crushed. God extends to you His saving grace through his Son. If you turn Him down, how do you think He'll feel?

Hi Hernyaccent, I BET the following can bring some new light into how you'd call this 'christian' stuff.



Would you think you're a good person? Good enough to go to heaven?

Let's take a test.

If you tell one lie, you're a liar, that's how God sees you. Liars don't inherit the kingdom of God.

If you steal one thing, even if it's a paperclip, you're a theif. Theives don't inherit the kingdom of God.

If you hated someone, you just commited murder in your heart. Murderers don't inherit the kingdom of God.

If you look with lust, you commited adultery in your heart. Adulterers don't inherit the kingdom of God.



Now be brutally honest with yourself. Above is a summary of some of the 10 commandments. Have you lied, stolen, hated or looked with lust before? If you're honest enough, you'd say yes.

And if you die a liar, theif etc, you will be found guilty on that terrible day of judgement.

God can't let liars into heaven, theives into heaven, adulterers, muderers, slanderers, idolators etc.



Now before i go on, can i ask you (NOTE after reading the above carefully) does this concern you? Does it worry you in anyway? Do you feel what i'm saying here?

Quick post: children including babies who die don't end up in hell. This can be backed up biblically when Jesus blessed the young children and said that "...the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

There will come a time when everyone will end up willlingly sinning against God.

I have always felt as if a christian is someone who follows the teachings of Christ to the best of their ability. I don't believe that God will reject those into his kingdom who have never had the ability to hear his word and for that one statement I am not a christian because there is this belief that Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. How do you accent for tribals people who have never encountered people outside of their tribe let alone Jesus?

This has become such a hardship for me. I feel like I am always attacked by christians or things involving christianity. I know someone will say your faith should not change because of man but that isn't the case for me and I am willing to admit it. My weakness at this point of my life is my faith. I am young and searching for that stable faith but all I have found are arguements as to way I am not a christian.

Hi hernyaccent: you are not alone in wondering about these things, I believe what the bible says about "all the world will hear and then the end will come" we are living in age when it is rapidly becoming possible for the whole world to hear the message of salvation as outlined in the bible. technology is providing a means, air travel is providing the way, missionaries around the world are devoting(and sacrificing) their very life to this end. I believe a day will come when "every ear has heard' though not everyone will respond. Christianity is a "personal' relationship with God and I am praying that you will find it to be that. God has always come to us as individuals and given each one of us (as we meet Him) an opportunity to invite Him into our hearts and lives. You are most accurate in saying "I know someone will say your faith should not change because of man but that isn't the case for me" people are the usual cause for others to stumble in their faith. I think it is because we are "all" prone to failure. If we weren't, there would be no need to ask for forgiveness. I am praying that you will find the personal relationship, that will strengthen and build your faith. please feel free to pm me if you think i can help.

You slandered a lot of good people in that thread.

Maybe the "attacks" you're facing aren't attacks at all, but reactions to your rude behavior and outrageous accusations.
