The Holy Spirit of God reminds us of all Jesus said and did...if one disputes what Jesus said and did it cant be the Holy Spirit. If one disputes the Bible passages of what Jesus said and did, who is to say the passages about the Holy Spirit are right either?
You said her comment goes against God's Word. Explain.
One doesnt need to explain, just compare her comment with what the Bibles says.

Well, where does the Bible say she cannot "apply logic and science to my understanding of scripture? Maybe we can all learn from your reply to this question?

Dear Brieuse,
Well, where does the Bible say she cannot "apply logic and science to my understanding of scripture? Maybe we can all learn from your reply to this question?
The Bible doesn’t refer to you or her, let alone your logic, it does however refer to the Holy Spirit and it refers to what the Holy Spirit does which was the comment in my post.

Apply logic and science, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

You know when science can make a world and hold it in their hand, or make lightning flash across the land, and when they can take a piece of clay and mold it into man, then I might lean more on their understanding of the scriptures.

Until then I will rely on the Holy Spirit for my understanding and wisdom, because I have a Father who can do those things and more.

I'm an Engineer, I cannot ignore science. That would be stupid.

Anyone who knows God and His Word knows when someone is espousing something that is not agreeable to God and His ways.

No further explanation should be required.
Let's say... if there's you and you believe that you know God and His Word, and there's someone else who also believes that they know God and His word, but they disagree with you about something, then it's possible that they are correct and you are wrong.

NO ONE is suggesting that we ignore science. Science is fantastic! It is the revelation of the handiwork of God!

Rejoice in His creation with every new discovery. He is a limitless God and He has created a limitless universe for us to discover.

To ignore God, however, is the wrong thing to do--for science points to Him.

It's possible that two people who know Jesus Christ could disagree--why else do we have so many denominations?

But to disagree about basic God-truths? No. That doesn't happen without one being mistaken about one's relationship with the living Saviour. You can't be intimate with Jesus Christ and disagree on so many basics with other Christians.

Faith in Jesus Christ produces unity. Where there is lack of harmony, there is error and/or sin.

Which means what?

If the Bible says that a man can be dead for four days, and Jesus raise him from the dead without any physical or mental problems then what?

Does science believe that can happen, or can they do that?

Science doesn't even know how the origins of life began, but yet you would take their word on.........................what exactly?

We can't even figure out how to make dirt, so again what do you think they know that the Bible doesn't or is wrong about?

The scriptures which tell us that when man thinks that he is wise he is a fool. I wonder why we are told that.

Even a moron could see by the address that the site has a huge bias. No thanks. I keep to the Word of God for my understanding of truth. Once the Holy Spirit reveals it, one needs to hold to it and not dilute it.

I hold to the charge that there is a huge agenda among us. In fact, I remember watching a program a few years ago where there was an interview with a homosexual rights activist and he openly and proudly admitted that there was an agenda to change society. So far, so good for them...but there will always be a fight coming from the righteous n Christ. We have been far to apathetic in the past, but the heat is on in these last days.
"Even a moron could see" by opening the link, all that would be found is all the different ways 1 Cor. 6:9 have been translated by different versions of the Bible.

That is not biased.

Once again, you call something an "agenda", but that shows everyone here that you are ONCE AGAIN, not making a credible debate point. Everyone has shown here that they have an agenda. Fair and equal treatment for all God's people is the one of GBLT people.

I don't need information like that from a homosexual-biased website. I can see various translations on my own easily. All you have to do is suggest we look at them, instead of linking us to a website that caters to your agenda.

Then don't read it, but don't accuse of something being biased without reading it, that is just plain foolish.
...and a false translation and anti-gay interpretations cater to your anti-gay agenda. The inconsistencies have been proven. Defend all you want, but those who wish to be educated can see for themselves.

It's maybe a good thing I can't read such small print...:tutu:
It's factual information about different Bible translations. Why is it a good thing you cannot read it?

You call something biased, yet you cannot read the screenshot, and you haven't clicked on the link.

You have not demonstrated in the least way that you can comment on the material.

There's no need to comment on such material. It comes from a website with a homosexual agenda. There is nothing that can discredit what Christendom has known since the beginning. There are no new facts about homosexuality that have been hidden from humanity over the ages. It is still the same perversion as it was 6 to 10,000 years ago!

This is foolishness.

1 Corinthians 1:20-27
So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength. Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But people who aren’t spiritual[a] can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.
