Edit: I'm not going to bother getting further into this conversation. Neither of the sides will listen to one another. It's the same arguments over and over. Needless to say, floatingaxe...you got my post all wrong.

There is right and there is wrong. The right will never cross over. The wrong are here to defend only. This is a debate that will never get anywhere. People don't want to be told they are wrong--even by God Himself.

A weak believer will see at least that there is a strong element among believers that will go toe-to-toe on this issue. They would be strengthened by that kind of strength.

So if God is telling you you are wrong, you admit you don't want to hear it?

I expected a crack like that...

God assures me He is right and I express it just fine, thank you.

...and a judgmental believer with a religious spirit will try to divide and call people apostate that aren't in the first place.

God tells me I'M right... so... whats to be done?

How does He assure you that? You aren't getting your assurance from the Word of God, because you don't trust it.

Methinks that you work on feelings and wishful thinking??

I do trust the word of God. Absolutely.

I think its YOU who works on feelings and wishful thinking.

So, come up with a proof for which one of us is right, and which is wrong?

I am not judgmental, nor do I have a religious spirit. Of course I am viewed that way by many here, because I believe God's Word regarding homosexuality. It doesn't make me judgmental OR religious.

God tells us to rebuke and correct those within the Body who err. That is what we are supposed to be doing. As far as religiosity is concerned...I know that God hates it, so I stay away from that.

So, your assessment is just as erroneous as your assessment of God concerning homosexuality, but not unexpected.

Any proof I have for anything comes from the Word of God, which you believe is contradictory and therefore unreliable.

Prove to us that you trust God's Word "ABSOLUTELY". I would love to see that.

You have to prove that anything I have posted is erroneous. Calling something an "evil agenda" over and over, does not discredit it in the least.

again... if you were mistaken, how would you ever know if you refuse to countenance any oposing points of view?

How do you know God isn't trying to show you how you are in error through Davedj?

What do you mean? I trust God's word as I understand it absolutely.

Further more, my understanding of God's word is not marred by all the implicet errors and self contradictions implicit in a literalist reading.

Professing that scripture is mistranslated in the one area that affects one's personal lifestyle is very indicative of agenda.

God's word is sufficiently translated for all of us. Picking it apart because one dislikes the message is a futile practice. In the end, you will have nothing but an argument with God, and you will lose.

I am often reminded of
1 Timothy 6:4
Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions.
