And this shows why creationists feel no shame when they quote mine.
The only "mine" I see around here is a lode of FeS[sub]2[/sub].

I'm calling your bluff.

Take any prophecy you think is a legitimate prophecy -- any one -- and prevent it from happening.

Hurry though, or you'll end up dying of old age.

There are no "legitimate prophecies". How can I stop something that does not exist?

Then do you mind if we don't believe you if you say x-prophecy failed?

Why not just say there are no prophecies, rather than say there are failed prophecies?

Or don't you know the difference?

Perhaps we need to define what a prophesy is.
No, thanks.

I'm perfectly okay with what I believe.

You're the one making hasty comments; then, when challenged to back [any] one up, suddenly need to define something.

Failed prophecies should be obvious to all. They are a test of a person's honesty. If a person will not admit that 1 + 1 = 2 then there is no point trying to teach that person calculus.

So once again how do you think that we should define what constitutes a Biblical prophesy.

How so? So far I have been correct in my comments, I can't say the same for you.

If you can't say why my prophesy is not Biblical then you should consider me a prophet too.

By calling your bluff.

Or anyone else's who say the prophecies can't be tested.

Hey ... I'm easy!

Just for fun, I'll agree with you: the Tyre prophecy was a failed prophecy.

Now ... I'm calling your bluff here:
See the problem with the many of the Old Testament "prophecies" is that they cannot be tested.
Your turn.

Again we can test prophecies that were supposed to happen and haven't. That is why the Tyre prophecy is a failed prophecy.

We can also test them by the wording of them. Prophecies are worthless if they are not clear once the supposed event has happened. Most Christians will claim that various parts of the Daniel prophecy have come true. The problem is that there are several different interpretations of this prophecy. Just as the same "prophecy" of Nostradamus have come "true" several times so has the Daniel prophecy. If Nostradamus prophecies are not genuine then neither is the Daniel prophecy. Odds are that both AV and Aman will claim that aspects of it have come true. Odds are that they will disagree about what parts came true and how.

So we found one of them that was testable. It failed. How would you expect to test the other ones? And please, no quote mined "prophecies".

Sub, I'll tell you what.

I'll play your game to the fullest: all prophecies prior to 2014 have failed.

The slate has been wiped clean and we are now looking at 224 new prophecies on the board.

Since the trick is to prevent one from happening, let's see you back up your statement that Old Testament prophecies can't be tested.

Just one ... not all 224.

Just pick any single one of your choice and test it.

Not a clue.

I don't go around testing prophecies.

And I don't go around saying prophecies cannot be tested.

Sorry, that is a ridiculous method of testing them. If they don't come to pass before I did you could simply say, though since you are older you will probably go first, that I failed to stop it since from occurring since it still could come true.

By the way, could you name a few of these prophecies? We wouldn't want to risk your soul with any that were actually quote mines now would we?

No.

I'm not going to pick one for you.

(You don't even know any, do you?)

None pop to mind, except for perhaps the failed prophesy of Jesus.
The Rapture? the Return (to the Mount of Olives?)

Ruling and reigning as King of Kings for 1000 years?

You can't test any of those?
