I believe it based on the possiblity that it occured and the evidence that it occured.

Congratulations!
You're one of the very few who recognises they have chosen a specific belief.
For most, it is just the atheist mantra.

For most, it is blindly accepted just as many fundamentalists believe creationism without questioning.

A belief based on experience is quite different from a belief based on faith.

Can you explain fossils then? Can you explain why all organisms use the same nucleotides? Can you explain why all organisms are made out of cells? Can you explain why land vertebrates have 4 limbs? (or in the case of snakes a skeletal system with vestigial bones). How about vestigial structures at all? Can you explain radiometric dating? (And before you say it's false, why do you trust nuclear medicine and why do nuclear weapons work? It's based on the same principles).

What do we see that points to a creator that a natural cause doesn't explain just as well?
It's rude to ignore people who ask you questions Merlin. Would you mind addressing this?

Only if done deliberately.

What's to explain?
God did it that way

Can you explain why PCs and Macs both use silicon microchips?

What do we see that points to a creator that a natural cause doesn't explain just as well?
I never said natural causes don't explain things.
I do state that I find the 'explanations' inferior to the concept called 'creationism'

I apologize then. It's just that this was the third time I posted it.

What's to explain?
God did it that way
Then God made the world to look like species evolved.

Can you explain why PCs and Macs both use silicon microchips?
I know very little about how computers work. But my guess would be that one person saw that it worked and the idea was taken by everybody else.

I never said natural causes don't explain things.
I do state that I find the 'explanations' inferior to the concept called 'creationism'
Why are they inferior? What empirical evidence does creationism have?

And I just have to ask to see if you're arguing using an accidental misconception: What do you think evolutionary theory is?

A belief.
A belief that the car will respond.
...evidenced by the thousands of times that the brakes worked correctly. Religion in general and creationism in particular have nothing like this experience, and that is why their belief is completely unsupported.

And I and others have experience with our religion, including thousands of answered prayers, lives changed, etc.

you have evidence that the car will respond. by your standard, there is no such thing as an idea not based on faith.

So, by your standard, when I say I believe that I am typing this message right now, THAT is based on faith. You say that you are skeptical of evolution because it is a belief, or that it does not have adequate evidence. Tell me, why is it that you dont apply this same degree of skepticism to a belief in a personal god?
