Absolutely. Job, in his sufferings, shows that he was in fact very very much loved by God.
This is a somewhat hard principle to come to understand or to come to grips with without 'experience.'
Judgment, tribulation and chastisements are a very intimate part of being a believer. They are mandatory.

If you trail the footsteps of the fathers of faith, you will find both quite abundantly. And very often after being 'led' into those sights, it will prepare you for what may come. If you are still looking there are reasons for that as well.
It's all part of the Divine Plan to torture you brinny! heh heh.

Seriously, how about we just look at it as part of the sadness of life. To see/experience the death of loved ones for example is just a plain old fashioned form of torture and the experience of LOSS.
There's a book titled "The Joy of Fearing God" by Jerry Bridges, with this verse on the front of the book:
"The Fear of the Lord is a Life-Giving Fountain, Proverbs " ~Proverbs 14:27
Is it possible that man's thoughts on the "fear of the Lord" are not how God defines it?

Imagine if God proved to you that He was against you and not for you.
Would you still love God?
That is the question that Job 'experienced.'
If you know beyond any doubt that God is against you...
will leave the details of that contemplation to you.
Job 42:
11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

already cited 'Who' brought evil to Job. It is impossible to remove God from the equations even though Satan's hands were on the actions.

God did indeed allow Satan to come against Job for His own purposes, which had to do with showing before all of heaven that Satan was indeed a liar (and as Jesus said Himself, the "father of lies") and this was demonstrated by Job not cursing God and dying.
God allows evil, but HE isn't evil. Nor was HE out to "get" Job. Satan was, as demonstrated and testified to from the beginning of the book of Job and thorough-out the entire book, up until the ending when God called Job His servant.
The "key" to all of it is in the very first books of the book of Job.

God creates and brings evil. There is no question about that.
And yes, that was directed, evil from God toward Job. You might say that God wasn't out to get Job but from Job's perspective I could guarantee you that is not how Job perceived it because it was evil from God toward him. Excuse God all you please. Believers excuse God everyday from the reality of evil so it's nothing new.
God can use and or create any 'thing' and not 'be' that thing He uses or creates.
