Elihu was being used of Satan to further buffet and torture Job. There was nothing of God in him. He was, in essence, another "plague" that came against Job.
Where does it say this? Where does it even remotely state that Elihu did wrong or that he was of Satan? Where????
You are entitled to your opinion, i ain't hatin' on ya' for it brother.
However you might want to re-think what you posted a few posts back on blaming God.
Your taking some of these scriptures out of context. Job justifying himself before God is something we all do. Especially when your under stress in a trial and are angry with God because of your situation. Job was as human as we are and was very angry at what was happening to him. The book of Job is a very angry book. As Brinny said, God praised Job, that's why he proclaimed Job as a jewel of spirituality: "Have you considered my servant Job."Brinny, it's not an opinion. Yours is an opinion....Worse yet it's supposition.
I said it was ultimately Job's fault, however God allowed it. If God didn't allow these calamities Job would have been fine, right?
Therefore God allowed it. The question is why?
The answer is:
Job 32:2 "because he [Job] justified himself before God"

If you want to blame someone, other than Job, blame God because none of this could have happened unless God allowed it. But ultimately Job is to blame....He had a lesson to learn and apparently this was the only way.
i don't have a "position" brother. I'm just reading the book of Job and seeing what it says. Just a side note.....what stands out quite glaringly is Elihu's pompousness, and his self-righteousness. What also stands out glaringly is all four of these men who came to "help" Job through this excruciating state he was in, never once even "prayed" for him. THIS is a HUGE clue to the condition of their hearts and it indicates who they were speaking on behalf of. And it wasn't God.
Job justifying himself before God is something we all do.
here's what you said brother:
Setyoufree said:"If you want to blame someone, other than Job, blame God because none of this could have happened unless God allowed it"
So again, if you want to blame someone blame God, not Elihu.
"For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3 For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness (which is self-righteousness), they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God." Romans 10:2-3
Thank you for sharing brother. Peace.
"Who is this that darkens my counsel (God's counsel, given through Elihu) with words without knowledge?" (Job 38:2)
Setyoufree, would you kindly describe to me Job's circumstances and what he was experiencing, in detail, as if you were there in his shoes? Thank you kindly.
Thank you for sharing your opinion on Elihu, brother.
Peace.
