You're missing the point hon.... I used to be a pastor's wife at a church with 16 fundamental truths, each one backed by at least 3 scriptures. Does that mean that denomination is the only right one?
Amen Sister,

I am an Old Catholic Priest, my denominations POV is supported by scripture. I would never think of saying its the ONLY WAY (tm) to God.

I don't ever give up and I never will give up. I love doing God's work so much. It's my life. I told Erwin that I would support him and I am--even though I am upset by a few of the changes, I won't quit. I will work through them. I don't always have to be comfortable in my ministry. If I get voted off staff or whatever, then so be it. But I'll never be looked at as a quiter...I just don't back from what I think is right.
I can appreciate that sentiment...

I've never had a run in with you that I'm aware during my time on this board...

But you should know by now...

That volunteering yourself to any service can be a thankless endeavor...

You do it because you want to...

Erwin:

I just realized I've not said thank you yet.

Thank you. This has been my dream for CF for many months now. I hope with all my heart it will prove to be as positive a change as I have envisioned it might be, with all of us learning from one another how to be more thoughtful, caring and clear-eyed in regards to what Christianity has to offer.

This has been a very bad last two weeks for me. I felt I had no home on the internet -- no place I could engage with people I respected on my deepest questions. When I read your announcement, I took the first deep breath I've taken in 14 days! I plan to use this opportunity well.

Did I say thank you?

THANK

Chaps, please do remember that we are still under the current rules, and that means that there is to be no flaming.

Flames are creeping in here, and we will be removing them.

Please share your thoughts without getting personal with one another. :)

God bless everyone here.

On this thread I have met some people I have never seen before, and wow I am sad by their behavior.

I belong to another forum, it ia a beautiful deep place for Christian women. While you do have to be a woman to post there, you do not need to be a Christian. However, you do need to follow the Christian rules. You cannot cause strife. I think that with proper boundaries, this too could work, but that just like a small child there will first need to be quite a few boundaries as the culture adjusts and Leaders (by this I mean by their personality not by their title) show how to behave around others, once that is in place the strict boundaries could be peeled away slowly....

Yes I agree! When non christians come to a church, they respect where they are and behave accordingly. What could be detrimental, would be when someone is seeking support, and biblical advice, then someone comes along and says something very insulting to her biblical beliefs. Those kinds of things should not be allowed. If nonchristians can respect the biblical values, then yay. Otherwise though, it will be a place of witnessing, which is good, but it would be hard to feel safe becoming vulnerable.

I don't know maybe the behavior on GA.

Theology is about the same; Christians debate each other to no end about anything against each others beliefs. Believe Paul and Peter worked things out way better ;)

Then why do you do it?...

Give it up...

And the last time I was banned...

I was never given a reason...

That was a bit of a slap in the face as well...
I think I saw that and you should have been commended

no...this isn't right...I believe Erwin owes the people, the hard working staff that gave their blood, sweat and tears to running this site. I'm speechless. He just tossed us out to the wolves and isn't looking back. Now anyone with a grudge can vote you off staff, even those who have give 5 or more years!! Now non-Christians can come on here and be staff and effect the way this site is run...it's going to go down the tubes.
Oh please!

I've been a member here for 5 years. I have never been on staff, am I suddenly going to vote off those I disagree with? I don't think so. Man, lighten up friend!

That's the idea.

The idea is not to have a blanket rule to discriminate against any CF member from serving as a moderator.

The idea is that s subforum membership will have the maturity enough to vote someone in to look after their subforum that they respect and trust - it is unlikely that for example a conservative congregational forum would vote an atheist in to moderate their forum.

But this might happen in GA, and that is fine, as long as the members of GA did the voting.

The idea is to trust the members to make the right decision for their subforum.

The rule - moderators can only moderate their own forums.

Category moderators can moderate the whole category (but all subforums in that category get to vote for a category moderator).

Supermoderators get to moderate the whole site - therefore the whole site gets to vote on supermoderators.

Based on the above model, it would make sense that only in subforums where there are a lot of non-Christians could a non-Christian be voted in to be a moderator.

Hope that makes sense.

Dear Saucy

I think the members of CF will immediately nominate and re-elect those mods whom they discerned as carrying out their mod duties wisely and with objectivity in all areas of their duties. I really pray that discernment and wisdom will be the guide to all nominations for mods too.

I think deletion of sock accounts and prevention of the creation of new ones would be excellent. If transparency is part of the new vision, then this certainly fits, IMO.

I suppose we'll figure it out. Folks will either vote me back in or kick me out.

I can't wait until the PMs sent to moderators for discussion about suicide etc are made available for public view. Clearly this is something that we all need to vote on.

Can I work on your campaign committee?

Seems like the actions of a few are costing many others.

The dedication and trouble that staff puts in has been largely overlooked here. I don't require thank-yous, but I wouldn't like "you are working for nothing" type inferences either. No one here would appreciate that.
Of course the cops are always wrong because apparently, they are interfering with the peace. Entire staff cannot be wrong to be completely eliminated in this way. Voting by popularity and majority effectively elminates staff. Staff title has nothing to do with history, nature of posts, but popularity?

Admins, Alpha and Erwin should convene on this now. Erwin, don't act solo here.
Dozens of legit reports are on hold, members have spent their lives to the service of this site. Yes, they work for God and BUT, they have been dedicated and deserved to be approached in this by the man in charge, Erwin.
This has to slow down and Erwin and the execs and admins SHOULD bust out the round table and use it now.

I agree...there is no entitlement...I'm not asking for anything except maybe a few kind words or a thank-you.

Thank you.

You worked with Rules designed to make your job as difficult as possible.
