I would demand my money back. I may ban my daughter from being on here too. ERWIN...better wake up.
Please, you are overreacting. Why don't you wait to see what God is doing here BEFORE canning it?

1 Corinthians 6:4-7

4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?

5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?

6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!

7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?

Seems like the actions of a few are costing many others.

The dedication and trouble that staff puts in has been largely overlooked here. I don't require thank-yous, but I wouldn't like "you are working for nothing" type inferences either. No one here would appreciate that.
Of course the cops are always wrong because apparently, they are interfering with the peace. Entire staff cannot be wrong to be completely eliminated in this way. Voting by popularity and majority effectively elminates staff. Staff title has nothing to do with history, nature of posts, but popularity?

Admins, Alpha and Erwin should convene on this now. Erwin, don't act solo here.
Dozens of legit reports are on hold, members have spent their lives to the service of this site. Yes, they work for God and BUT, they have been dedicated and deserved to be approached in this by the man in charge, Erwin.
This has to slow down and Erwin and the execs and admins SHOULD bust out the round table and use it now.
Sincerely the voice of reason.

One of the problems I've seen too often, (and right here in this thread), is the blurring of lines between the gathering place, the gatherers, and the staff. This place isn't a church. It's an internet message board. And staff members are here for one thing, to moderate the message board.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my previous post. In what way, shape or form, does adherence to the Nicene Creed, enhance one's ability to moderate a message board? I'd really like to know.

I just want someone to answer a question for me. . .if we can now call ourselves Christian just because we think we are, then on what basis is CF going to be governed? It used to be the Bible. But now it seems that even if someone believes something totally unBiblical but yet still wants to call themselves a Christian then they are free to do so. So if this site is not longer being governed by the Bible, then whose to say what is right or wrong? For instance, if I want to start swearing at someone, whose to say it is wrong for me to do so? You have your morality and I have my own.

Problem is, we Christians have already committed that horror here at CF (saying something horrible about one's beliefs), so why be so concerned if a non-Christian may do it?

Anything we can point to in the eyes of the unbelievers is already poking out of out own skulls like splintered cord.

Erwin wants to change the culture.

Wow that's an ambitious task.

But I believe he's going about it the right way by radically changing the structure of CF.

A new wineskin for the new wine if you will.

Not everyone is going to move into this new future. People will leave. And that will be sad, and CF will be less for the loss of them.

But changing culture literally means changing the way we live. I for one am ready for a new way of living at CF.

PS: BTW this post isn't aimed at you directly. But something you said triggered these thoughts.

Yes I agree! When non christians come to a church, they respect where they are and behave accordingly. What could be detrimental, would be when someone is seeking support, and biblical advice, then someone comes along and says something very insulting to her biblical beliefs. Those kinds of things should not be allowed. If nonchristians can respect the biblical values, then yay. Otherwise though, it will be a place of witnessing, which is good, but it would be hard to feel safe becoming vulnerable.

Seems like the actions of a few are costing many others.

You mean, the loud few? Yeah those guys are so annoying.

The dedication and trouble that staff puts in has been largely overlooked here. I don't require thank-yous, but I wouldn't like "you are working for nothing" type inferences either. No one here would appreciate that.

I don't think anyone has said that. It has been "implied" time and again throughout this thread, but I bet Erwin appreciates everyone's hard work. I know I do. Even if I don't agree, I run a few sites and I know it's hard.

Admins, Alpha and Erwin should convene on this now. Erwin, don't act solo here.

Still wanting to leave the members in the dark while you have super secret meetings? The whole point of these plans is to stop that kind of nonsense, is it not?

Dozens of legit reports are on hold, members have spent their lives to the service of this site. Yes, they work for God and BUT, they have been dedicated and deserved to be approached in this by the man in charge, Erwin.
This has to slow down and Erwin and the execs and admins SHOULD bust out the round table and use it now.

We were all approached, in this very thread. It was announced ahead of time that both staff and members would be notified at the same time. I don't think you should infer that Erwin cares less about the staff just because he told everyone at the same time.

Well, I think I realize this is Erwin's site.

It's not Christ's church, either.

We're not gonna get Christian unity here. We're just going to get human action and reaction. If Erwin wants to see if humanity polices itself, he can try. He has the authority, of course.

I've seen it tried before on other worldwide fora. So I'm not optimistic. But it's yours to try, Erwin.
