I say, the moderators should stay unless voted out.

And I don't think there should be outside debate allowed in congregational forums. Just observation and questions for those who differ in beliefs.

I do have to agree with you. I do enjoy talking with non-Christians and discussing what they believe and why they believe it. However, I do also enjoy having a place where I can discuss things with only Christians. No offense, but I feel that there are some things that only other Christians can truly understand.

I agree. Sure we want other Christians and non-Christians to feel free to come in and ask questions. But at the same time, I've seen what can happen to a Christian forum or newsgroup which is open to anybody saying anything they like. I used to subscribe to a Christian newsgroup in which a certain resident atheist kept turning every thread into a debate over the existence of God. You couldn't just relax and talk about music. I finally got sick of it and left.

well, let me ask you this - since many protestant pastors are elected, do the ones who say things that folks need to hear, but don't really want to hear often find themselves kicked out?
I realize it isn't a perfect analogy to a moderator, but I think it does draw out the point.
The answer to your question is that yes many many are fired because they are unpopular. What does the Scripture say about itching ears?

Am so so sorry if this sounds rude, or mean, but am uncomfortable with the idea of non-Christians being on staff... insofar as, you likened it to a church. Non-Christians wouldn't be staff within a church.

Wide open forums is fantastic, but non-Christian staff at "ChristianForums"? Tis a thinker.

Praying. It's a good suggestion. However, I think a lot of people have things they just want to get off their chest. Perhaps an appropriate staff thread created elsewhere would be appropriate? Maybe reopen DR?

I've been on the internet for about 10 years and never knew it did that. :)

I just figured it out myself. I got tired of hitting Control Panel. So, I went looking for Refresh. ^_^

How do you know they're "Christains"?...

What if they're struggling with their faith?...

Unbelief?...

What's the difference...

You cannot force repentance or forgiveness. If this is for real, it's time to let go of old offenses and move on.
Is this a unilateral suggestion or are you applying to specific situations only. My concern is that there could be repeat offences and this seems the perfect opportunity to avoid continuation of that kind of silliness

I think that is a good place to start, reopen the DR.

Thats true. Only God really knows a person's heart. And I think that the new rules will allow more honesty, especially with people who want to interact within the Christians-Only section.
