I'm reminded of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. There was a place for the Gentiles, a place for the women, a place for the Nazarites, a place for the men, and a place for the priests. Once a year, the religious Jews would set up moneytables and merchandise booths in the Court of the Gentiles so that the Jews could purchase their sacrifices for worship.

Once a year, until a Rabbi dared challenge all that by turning over the tables and saying "This will be a house of prayer for all nations!"

I've often thought that CF had begun to look a lot like that Jerusalem temple. I even tried kicking at tables a few times myself. I'm not sure if Erwin's tipped them over or not...but I do think it would be a good thing.

Eph 2:14For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

This likely demonstrates part of the problem. Can you show me specifically what he said that was demeaning or showed an intent to berate you? He simply disagreed with you. We'll never find more than a handful of people who can get along on a single forum if everyone believes they have the right to run around without skin. You have an opinion and he has an opinion. You expressed yours. Why should he have any less right to express his?

If you found his post demeaning or berating, I can only comment that from my perspective, you're being much, much too sensitive. It's just an opinion. It didn't hurt you.

No, no. Not what I meant at all. Of course she has a right, but I felt like it was a bit hypocritical of her to get on the high horse.

However, we're all hypocrites on some level. I'm just as guilty as anyone else. You're right, and I extend my apologies to her if that's how it came off.

Cheers.

Wow...and here I am thinking CF is just a web site that I could go to for good fellowship with other Christians, where I could learn a few things, become inspired by the testimony of others and be respectful of differences........had no idea CF was all of this stuff you all are talking about.....never heard of the creed you are referring to until I read it last night and I'm still not certain I understand it - nor do I want to now that I see the uproar.

Wasn't one of the biggest expectation from God is for us to love one another as we would love ourselves? Where's the love people??

I don't have to go outside of this thread right now. I can show you 10s of examples of so called Christians spewing venom on this thread alone. That is my concern. I don't really care how the atheists have acted in the past here. I have been staff and know that a good majority of the behavior was because they were treated like second class people and those abusing them were not only protected by staff but encouraged to do so in some cases. I care about how people who claim to follow Christ are spewing vitriol in this thread and spouting false claims. I have no call to correct atheists but I am told in scripture to correct my brothers and sisters in Christ. Over half the NT is just that.

Amen, brother, amen.

Idealistically, perhaps. However, historically when one is give a voice, inevitability another is silenced. What this change may have done is shifted who has the greater voice, but now that it has been given, those who desired it, because they felt oppressed, will most likely become the oppressors. Just look at the history of mankind.
I hope you are wrong. It's up to all of us to ensure that doesn't happen.

Oh, okay. I don't particularly agree because they are welcome here and they are leaving of their own free will. That is not exclusive. In fact, many people are returning BECAUSE of this change.

I mean, if a church decided that only white people could attend, and people left over that, then, I would see your point. However, if a church said, everyone is welcome, and people left, then it is on them, not the church. Do you see what I am saying?

Lisa
amen and amen. I've been saying this for a while, but not as well. Good analogy

That's exactly what we are trying to get down to now. :) Hope you stay around long enough to see it happen.

Might not be too long now......

Love, from the Savior, might win out in the end.

No creed but Christ. :)
