Seeking to please my Lord.
This entire thread is a prime example of how being inclusive is really just another form of exclusiveness, with a more friendly title.

The ONLY thing about the new CF that I like the concept of is that fact that Mods will be nominated and voted in by the people. I don't care for the rest of it.
I am saddened by the new rule.
I thought the Nicene Creed was an excellent standard.
We'll be over-run by every wind of doctrine flowing from the pit of hell.
Pssst.....I'm trying to be firm here. Don't let on about my being sweet.Sweet friend ((((((YOU)))))) I just posted something similar in a staff area..the baby went down the drain with the dirty bathwater
I'm beyond sad at all my dear friends who've left or resigned... I doubt I'll make it through any voting criteria due to the two teams I was on, but am hoping some will at least see I was good at my job, and just maybe I can continue to serve...if not, I know where the caturday thread is

I know many of the best, Scripturally grounded mods have resigned due to the hypocrisy of the new rules under the guise of being a Christian site. Have you noticed that the liberals and unchurched are happy about this?
Secularism gains another foothold under the umbrella of tolerance. Of course, it could be that the sheep's wool has been thrown off the wolf that was there all along.
And many atheists are honestly curious about the Christian faith, respectful, intelligent, and quite willing to discuss things like rational people. Your broad brush reveals fear and not experience. I doubt many of the regular atheist posters have any designs on jumping into the congregation forums to disrupt them. This characterization is false on many levels and quite frankly devoid of love. If atheists are lethal to Christian faith then we have placed our faith wrongly and should walk away now. If simply debating your faith can lead you away then it was not truly faith to begin with. I welcome the atheist viewpoint and look forward to a much simpler CF.I spend a lot of time in apologetics, and I get along well with everyone there. I have to tell you though, the atheists are not benign. They are lethal to your Christian faith. Yes, I know that non-believers can walk into any church.. but they are not given the pulpit.
I see this over and over in this thread. No one has said there will be no rules. There will be. They will be simplified and easy to understand and written by the community. This is not a proposal for anarchy. The fear smells really bad in this thread. I our faith is correct then we have nothing to fear. If your faith isn't strong enough to withstand attacks by mere atheists then the problem is not with the new system at CF but with your faith. Not all advice from atheists is wrong just because they are atheists. I know many atheists who are wiser than many Christians on this thread and would much prefer their advice on many situations to many of my Christian friends.I wonder if any consideration as been given to the reality -that allowing their views to advise- will many times conflict extremely with the Christian faith. Will thay be allowed to attack faith in all forums? Will they be able to give Godless advise to Christian seeking help and prayers? Erwin had always kept safeguards in place in appologetics.. and now?
Please. Staff have been summarily dismissed over the history of CF. I am sick of the whining about "not even a word of thanks". I was booted for fighting for openness and other things and didn't get a word of thanks. Many have left staff without a word of thanks. If staff have been so bad they don't think they will be chosen to stay staff then the problem isn't with it being a thankless job but a job done wrong. Staff have been booted then pretty much forced to lie about why they left. The whole current structure it corrupt to be honest. I have been part of it twice so I am not speaking without knowledge. There are some that deserve thanks and some that deserve the boot with a "don't let the door hit you on the way out". I think Erwin did the right thing in not singling anyone out and leaving current staff where they are. If the community thinks staff did a good job then they will be appointed. If not then they won't. No-one should have been in this for thanks. Remember what Christ said about deeds done for recognition...I too am shocked at the way the now active mods were treated by Erwin. They gave of their own time to assist him with CF, but it appears to be a thankless job.

When I see people feeling compelled to leave and some suggesting to others they should leave... well, that seems to me to be exclusiveness in inclusiveness clothing. That doesn't make any sense to me. Could you explain?
Lisa
That is a great example. When I see people feeling compelled to leave and some suggesting to others they should leave... well, that seems to me to be exclusiveness in inclusiveness clothing.
I see it often in homeschool groups too. Inclusive groups are really as intolerant of people with strong views with which the majority does not agree as the exclusive groups are.
