okay, I just read the OP,

I don't see that there is a problem!

I think that people are making mountains out of mole hills!

I think that we all need to sit back and let this "roller coaster" start...

those who feel they can't ride it, should step aside. Sorry.

I personally think that a lot of this has to do with the fact that there are people who want us to shut down..
WHY? because we make a difference in the lives of others...

Now with that being said, living a Christian life is not always easy. We are all faced with temptations and we all fall short of the Glory of God.

So... where do we start?
Right here,
Prayerfully consider what you should do.
And Go on about the business of life, making sure that we each take responsibility for our own actions and words.

BE BLESSED! BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
AMEN :amen:

They can request and form their own forums for their own group. Moderation will be decentralised according to each forum/category - members that the forum members respect get voted to be their mods. Mods usually only have power to moderate their own forums. Reports go into forums that are subforums of these forums/categories. It's a massive restructure that I need to embark on.

The aim is to make this a true community where people have the power to ultimately moderate themselves.

I have resigned from staff. It has been an honor and privilege to be a servant here on CF and sharing in this ministry.

I'm happy that some of you are happy. Right now, my heart is filled with sorrow and sadness, but no bitter or anger... and so I walk away. Praying for CF.

God's Peace,

Debbie

A lot of discussion could have been avoided if Erwin would have just / will just sit down and properly write IN ONE PLACE what the new rules / format will be.

His definition though of who is considered a Christian has very much shifted. And it's not based on Biblical belief any more. It's based on "who am I to judge. If you say you're a Christian, you are." That is not Biblical.
the Nicene creed is not biblical, its human doctrine not divine truth.

Wow... Erwin, that is kind of a double standard. Everything is transparent and open and so why should the reporter have the option of not being known?

If someone is going to make a report, they should be able to be strong enough for the reporter to know that it was them who made the report and stand by the report they made. I mean, you are going to open it all up so that everything is transparent... then goodness, open it ALL up.

Thanks

For Obvious reasons. In America, criminals have the right to confront their accusers. Why can't we?

And what (as someone else said) would stop some non-believer coming on with a lot of friends, swamping the GA forum and voting for each other?

Note that you said to me "do you really think they will be modding congregational areas..no they'll be modding GA . "

Erwin's post above says something a little different.

...god, does everyone think that non-believers are chanelling...Hitler or something? Some other evil genius? We're not trying to take over CF. We're not trying to wipe out the christians. Seriously. We're not that diabolical...and we don't put THAT much time and effort into causing trouble on a freakin message board.

you're so horribly mistaken Erwin. People can't moderate themselves. Let's just remove all police and all laws and all jail sentences-let's create an anarchy so that everyone creates their own rules and their own laws-and when all the staff is gone and CF is in complete anarchy, you'll be running back to the structure that it needs---what we have now is structure and it works!

I disagree, Saucy. Catholics and Protestants have had a self-moderating experimental thread which is now in version three. We have self-moderated very well. We have had to call in moderators on a couple of occasions, but for the most part, we all agreed to be civil and loving towards one another. We have learned alot about each other.

Debbie, I am sorry to see you have chosen to resign.

I am neither happy or unhappy about the changes.

I just feel that we need to stop and pray, and figure out what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do.

The fact is, CF worked in the way it was split up yesterday.

Sure, too many rules.

But they could have been simplified / deleted / whatever, and for CF to continue as it was - working for the good of non-believer and believer alike.

I have absolutely no fear whatsoever of "debating" with non-believers. But in the end it is the Holy Spirit of course. Debate can only go so far.

But as has been said, there is no-where now for people young in the faith or those who want to rest and be encouraged and edified to go.

Instead it could turn into just a bombardment of posts disrupting threads - and nothing can be done about it because everyone is accepted as a Christian. All views are welcome, so to mod a thread will be a non-job really.

Do we need dictators or do we need moderators who enforces the rules within reason?

I do. This is still a Christian board.

I don't think people understand that there really aren't that many active non Christians here. I was surprised at how few of us there were. If anyone can hunt down that demographics thread it would be helpful, I don't have a search right now...I let my site supporter thing lapse.
No, technically, it is a board owned by a Christian who has has opened it to all religions and whose membership is predominately Christian. That is not the same thing.

agreed, those preaching we should go to war to bar the doors, keeping out the least, the last, and the lost are dark forces indeed:)

And those preaching gay marriage and advocating abortion and putting truth to the vote are the great bringers of light .

As I've said, I think Erwin has purposely sown the seeds of destruction with this~he's tired of this place.
