If you don't like the rules, there are some Christian Message Boards that are only "open" to "certain Christians".

Nothing is stopping the rules from developing in a manner in which threads could be moderated for content and moved to a more appropriate forum.

Proclaiming something as true does not make it true. Explaining and discussing why or how something is true or relevant is a much better way of approaching evangelism anyway...

Nobody buys the Nicene Creed is true so if you don't agree with it you can't post in the country club section approach to evangelism anyway...

It hasn't worked well thus far.

I predict that many legalists will leave CF. When people argue and disagree, we will know what kind of a Christian each of them are and what kind of a heart they have.

You missed the point.

I think the role of moderator is going to change drastically with this new vision and that change is definitely for the good.

If moderators act more like facilitators for discussion rather than beat cops or SWAT teams, which is really the only thing a moderator on a discussion forum should be doing anyway, then there is no problem having non-Christian mods or ones who believe in elves and fairies.

Staff has acted in the past too far behind the scenes and were used to shut down discussions sometimes in favor of one side or another.

They should post openly in the threads and facilitate productive discussion and encourage people to talk with rather than past each other...

Every member now has a voice in how this site is run. If you were aware of the previous structure, the authority was four senior ranking staff members that made every single rule and policy with or without input from anyone else.

I'm quite aware of the old structure. I lobbied hard against the oligarchy. But it looks like we've traded one bad form of government for another.

I don't know about "new" and "old" Erwin. However, I noticed that there are many Christian Forums out in cyber-space that are limited to certain people. CF happens to be the only place that is more open to everyone.

Should we limited God's power to control what is going on in CF? I surely believe that God's power is much stronger and unlimited.

No matter what posters says, its the Holy Spirit that does the "convicting".

Visions are not static ideas like plans.

This change is probably very much in line with the old vision even if it looks different from your perspective...

I agree. We don't determine who is elected and who is not. Only God and the Holy Spirit's conviction to elected believers.

We cannot take God's place. Only God can do this.

That's my biggest issue with legalists.

So you have no idea who any theologian is or what they did. What I say is tame compared to them. Justin Martyr or Augustine?
