You don't seem to understand the concept of staff accountability. Just because you can't see what goes on in the background doesn't mean we don't hold staff to the same standards as the general membership in every way. But if you're so concerned with rules and regulations and legalizations, that's your prerogative. We try to run the site as an organic entity and enforce the rules only when absolutely necessary.

I know what goes on in back rooms full of appointed staff. It's not pretty.

I don't recall the chapter and verse, but it goes something like "Anyone who professes that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead shall be saved."

Doesn't seem to mention any of that other stuff you listed.

But... that's a discussion for a different time and place, I think.

Well, I believe that Christ's teachings about love save us from hate. And yes, Christ's teachings are in the Bible, but it doesn't mean that the Bible must be the Word of God (especially since, according to the Bible, the Word of God is the second person of the Trinity, and I don't believe that the Bible is the second person of the Trinity )

I don't believe that creating a battlefeild and then designating 1000's of people to fight the war is too Christian minded.
Personally I have better things to do than to be dragged into something that's not biblically based.

There is not such an army.But there is many people who prefer to talk Christ,than act Christ.JW I know,at least try,I have been surprised by many Christians here,who were amazing at preaching their love,but failed to live up to any of their words.

Y'know... about that whole "shake the dust" thing... that's not really referring to people who won't do what you want them to.

Neither is the "pearls before swine" homily.

I don't hold out much hope for the new CF. I have an idea of how it will end up. The new rules say "come in, everyone's a Christian - you just have to think you are. Hey, you're a good person, then you're a Christian!" are not good, and I've heard that argument "who am I to judge" many times. That is why we have the Bible. That is why I take it literally. Without that as the foundation, it's the very liberal "whatever is good for me goes, and is acceptable."

That's not what the Bible says.

For new Christians, or those seeking, or not well grounded, it is very open to them being persuaded by this ideology or into un-Scriptural teaching. To what itching ears want to hear, or to the doctrines / deception of demons! And mods will really be powerless unless people are causing a big disturbance - because anything said is acceptable.

That's not the narrow path. That's the all inclusive wide path - which, Christianity is not.

I'll wait to see what happens, but don't think I'll be at CF much longer. Maybe we'll see some new forums sprouting from these decisions?

and mods.... as someone said, who's to stop it being a popularity contest?

Get lots of your non-Christian (in the Bible sense of the word) friends to sign up, and vote you in! You need a certain post count to be voted? Just count!!! PM people, put your campaign in your sig - if you're my friend, then you'll vote for me. And I can see if you have because all information is available!

I don't think everything has been thought through fully at all, and I'm sure in time there will have to be rules and structures in place as there are now - because I think this has the potential to become one big unfriendly, argumentative place, and hurting more people than it does now.

Then you have allowed yourself to be fooled. The devil is real and he has has many doing his bidding to weaken Christians into tolerating heresy. They're doing an effective job, obviously.

This is going to be great.I have had a look around the Congregational threads, and noticed that many are broadcasting their intention to leave, and I say great.
It is invariably those whose little empires that are about to crumble who are most upset.
All things being equal we should end up with a great Forum site as those who are going to stay are going to be humble, welcoming and open to discussion.
For too long their has been and enourmous bias on these boards where one particular Denom had spread like a cancer throughout every area of the board,shutting people down, closing threads etc, whenever there is a hint of their "ways" being questioned, maybe Erwins "chemo" will once again make this a "Christian" forums once again.

Gotta love the grandstanding of those leaving, go already and God be with you I say. You will probably be back, most likely under a new user name in order to save face.
