And yes, they did meet as a "church" in people's homes.

Seriously....I think my experience at CF must be freakish-- I have never felt overcome by people with different beliefs than my own...and we have had many discussions gaining greater understanding of where it is we are coming from.

I had another account before this (stalking issues) and have been here a long time. I have learned debate is fruitless and discussion helps us all to share with reverence and love, as we are called.

Perhaps if we all loked at ourselves, how we can each better be Christ in the world--rather than the flaws and errors in others, our experience at CF will be a fruitful one. We are called not to be blown about by every wind, but to be mature.

I think we need a lot more details before something like that can be determined. Until we have that, we really can't know. I might even end up agreeing with you.

Around here, we are Christain defined the New Testament and the Gospel. Denominational doctrines make denominational followers.

Well, there will be new rules, but I really don't think that trolling and being hateful to others will be allowed anywhere, so maybe the things people here are concerned about won't happen

As for socks, I guess there will be something to avoid it. Erwin said that only people who post in a specific forum will be able to vote there, so there will be probably some post limit, which makes only people with more than a certain number of posts in a particular forum allowed to vote there.

The only hate I see being directed at Christians at the moment is coming from other Christians.

The only hate I have had directed at me at CF has come from Christians.

I could of written those exact words.

The only problems I have had at CF were from other Christians. And there are some not so nice (saying in nicely) Christians here.
And I have read many nasty exchanges between Christians to last a good long time.

I hope that when these walls are broken down, the non Christians can teach some of the not so nice Christians how to behave themselves.

This is Erwin's forum, he can run it as he pleases.

No one is forced to stay here. There are other forums out there one can choose to visit. Or if they can do it better themselves, they can start their own forum.

I am not saying everything will be a bed of roses.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Erwin appears to be setting up to use normal moderators and super moderators at CF.

In the vBulletin software, there are two types of moderators--normal and super. Normal moderators only have moderator powers in specific forums. When they browse another forum. they can't do anything that a regular user can't. Super moderators, on the other hand, can moderate any forum.

Currently, all moderators at CF are super moderators, which is somewhat abnormal. I think Erwin is going to change that

What this means as a practical matter is that if, say, an LDS poster was voted in as a moderator of an LDS forum, that person would not be able to moderate anyplace else.
