Jesus said "GO and make disciples". He didn't say bring them to church and make them disciples.

What exactly is your analogy? It doesn't make sense. HOW can a web forum GO????

If you wanted to GO on a forum, then you GO to the parts where non-Christians COME to seek and ask questions.

GOING is not possible on a web site in the way Jesus meant. Your analogy doesn't make sense at all unless I'm missing something

I have, and do GO in the world. But you can't do that in the virtual world. What is your point?

Personally- the new, old CF sounds wonderful to me!! I quit moderating a couple years ago because of all of the hiddeness and hierarchical wierdness....

I have had a very different CF experience from many other Catholics, as I have found refuge and deep fellowship in Open areas. I am so stoked to not have to remember to make all of my threads open any more!!

Many prayers for your stamina as you implement these changes, Erwin. God bless you abundantly--if you knew the enormous impact CF has made just in my life, you would know with certainty that this is a worthwhile endeavor

Maybe God is telling some of us to do this. I dont' think Erwin is doing this, I truly believe that God convicted Erwin to do this.

And I suppose then that you truly believe too that God says that whoever wants to label themselves a believing Christian IS one? And without believing what the Bible says?

Anyway, you have your own beliefs. I know what I believe, and what I think of the new plans. We shall see.

But none of it changes the Word of God.

Internet users are growing and cyber-space is a big world able to reach almost everywhere in this world who has a computer. Unbelievers will stumble to CF by accident (with God's help). We are to allow God to work whatever it takes to spread the gospel.

We are Christians but divided by our own beliefs. You explained this very well.

Many God-fearing and devoted folks like D'Ann will leave and the left will not care~"Good riddance".
I pray she and others will not leave. She has been one I have counted friend.

How many libs are going to leave over this? None~only they stand to benefit over these changes.
I consider myself to be conservative and I look forward to the benefits I shall reap from this
D'Ann helped me alot even though she doesn't know it, she's one of the good guys...
yes she is

No, for me, I know from the Word what a Christian is, and as has been defined in this thread.

I'm not someone who says everyone is saved, or will be whatever they believe and however they live.

Right... and how does that work with your analogy of GOING? It doesn't!!!!!
You are limiting God's power.

If you want rules and guidelines, there are many Christian message boaords/forums out there with restrictions (not many members). No gosple there other than doctrinal discussions.

If one to discuss doctrines, there are forums out there with strong legalistic restrictions. Go there.

Looks like people don't want thier little cyber-space world to be ruined. Comfort zones are being shaken, and reality is hitting hard. The "Real" world is waiting for "Real" believers to walk it out.

God is shaking alot of comfort zones...and I pray He doesn't stop.

Once again...Tear down the Walls!

Blessings to you Erwin!

Do we need dictators or do we need moderators who enforces the rules within reason?

What we need is liberty in Christ. This is what Erwin is proposing. Those who act like idiots will be dealt with. However, it also means that threads will not be closed, truth can be told, friendship can blossom.

Do you know what happened not too long ago? I had a nice little thread and we were all having fun. There were no reports, but the thread was closed and a tremendous amount of posts were deleted because they were "off topic". I was also told that one of my posts had the "potential" for flaming. If that isn't adding onto the rules, I don't know what is. The guy that was "potentially" flamed came in and was laughing and joking with us. We were all having a good time, and the mods just decided to mess with us, I guess. I was absolutely livid about it.

This means that we can be treated like grown ups instead of children who are being parented by contol freaks.

Now, don't get me wrong. Not all of the moderators are like that. In fact, it is just a few, but it does happen.

Lisa
