• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Abortion, gay marriage and people who smell? I think we need a little perspective.

What political, social and/or ethical issues really keep you awake at night?

I dunno, but when an ethical issue does bother me, you can be sure i'll make a thread about it :sorry:

Well, for me, it is the gay thing that keeps me awake at night (not literally, but I get your point). Because, well, I'm gay. So, on with the gay threads!

Haha, well, yeah, okay, thoughts of hot lesbian action keep me awake at night too, but I meant more along the lines of what troubles you :p

What about:
The war
The failing economy
A collapsing public school system
Sky high crime rates
The loss of constitutionally protected freedoms
Lack of universal health care
Child abuse and neglect
The homeless
The hungry
The out of control national debt
The torture of prisoners in American prisons
The energy crisis
Global warming

So what are the issues the religious right is concerned about?

Not finding a renewable energy source to replace oil.
Not being able to reverse the damage we have done to the climate.
Waiting for the next zombie outbreak.
The next one? I missed the forst one! After I spent all that money on weaponry? Dang it!

* Democratic Governments of the World saying they think what's right for the people...without listening to them.
* Why can't the States leave the World alone and concentrate on their own problems
* 1st World countries keeping Africa in a state of famine, so they slowly kill themselves and the other countries reap the rewards. Seriously, if Africa had its [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] together and not constantly kicked while on the ground, they would be one of the most powerful, resourceful and influential Continents on the planet.
* The plain ignorance of people
* The indifference of good people
* The archaic nature the World still clings to, fearing the unknown.
* The brainless consumerism and wastefulness of society
* The impending end of society and the next transition of mass consciousness into the new realm
* What I will have for breakfast

I know, it really is a very under reported issue I would say.
Yeah, I don't know about everyone else, but my Zombie Bunker is ready for the long haul.

Maybe it's just me, but has anyone else noticed a major drop in the education of America's children? In my Chem class, we take tests from back in the Commie days, and my teacher still has to curve the grade despite the fact that my class is an honors class.
