  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Glorious Night

It was a beautiful night indeed
So clear and crisp was the midnight air
As two weary travelers searched around
Finding no vacancies, they looked elsewhere.

A town's innkeeper got wind of their need
His heart was deeply touched
Seeing the mother so near to birth
Offered his stable, knowing it wasn't much

Tired and weary but grateful in heart
Not knowing the fullness of God's plan
Now waited for the arrival of His birth
Bringing new life to the world, through God's own hands

Even nature itself partook that night
The stars were gleaming with a heavenly glow
And the animals of the fields came in with respect
To this child from Heaven, who they did not know

The shepherds that night had a glorious surprise
As the angels announced the birth of a saviour
And a star so bright, like a guiding light
Lead the Magi from afar, bringing their gifts of treasure

There was music in the air from voices of angels
Giving glory, honor and praise, they sing
And a peaceful delight, for this first new night
From the Saviour who came, our Lord and King
