NoRaptureBaptist - as a side note from that video...
If you'd like a different perspective on the Brownsville revival from a man who stands up for holiness and repentance, I would recommend you read some books by Dr. Michael L. Brown.
Here is a video of him:

Dr. Michael L. Brown has blessed me in so many ways. His loving but firm criticisms of the American Church, his work in apologetics to fellow Jewish believers (he is a Jewish Christian), his ministry to homosexuals (in how he stands by what the Bible says on that sin, but believes in the power and love of God to totally change individuals) and his explorations of the Jewish roots of our faith have all greatly enriched my walk. He also believes that these moves of God (such as the Brownsville revival) are not counterfeits, but are real.
I have been through this issue many times on here, though, so I will leave the subject alone. However, I will say that God is fully entitled to knock someone to the floor for hours, or even days, if He so wishes. He can bring us to our knees, crying for hours with sobs of repentance, and He can fill our mouths with joy. His presence is Holy, and He is the creator of the Universe. When the infinite touches the finite, such things can occur.
If you were to read up on accepted and fruitful revivals from hundreds of years back to present, you would see similar physical responses to the Spirit's presence. It is in no way simply a modern thing. Only once in my life have I been unable to stand in the Lord's presence: when I got up, I was convicted of sin and apologized to my father who was present (something I had not done previously) and then I was filled with the joy of the God. I worshipped and understood His grace in a new way that night... I don't know why my body fell to the floor in God's presence, but I know that the fruit was good and gave me a hunger for more of Jesus Christ in my life.
Be blessed.![]()
He wasn't asking God for proof. He was asking God for His presence, His manifested presence.....Who's he to ask God for proof?
You've completely missed the man's heart - he is such a sweet-spirited pastor.....His ministry was bad back then...so he made it sound like he challenged God!
Truth is, he almost didn't go to the service that father's day. He was so discouraged, I think I remember him saying that he was actually late, and I do remember he said he was glad there was a guest speaker, because he didn't want to do it.He's a smart man, but also a manipulative one as well. That's my INITIAL impression.
He mentions a battlefield....a downdraft from God...interesting.
What makes you so sure? There is nothing like the presence of God. It'll ruin you for anything else. It wasn't punishment, it was blessing. He was so grateful.4 hours on the floor.....
Why would God do that? He wouldn't.
I don't discount the Latter Rain movement entirely, "Sorry." At least you're being humble enough to admit that you might learn about it someday......Sorry I"m calling shennigans on the Brownsville revival. I've also read quite a bit about it before and it's all not from God IMHO. It's Latter Rain nonsense IMHO, and I don't buy it one bit that it is from God that is.....if I'm wrong...then I'll learn about it someday.![]()
If you watched the whole YouTube video, you saw the altar time, with people kneeling and crying out to Jesus for healing and salvation and change. That's what counts, that and the many testimonies of salvation and difference in people's lives.... If I remember correctly, things happened later on that caused this humble man of God to leave Brownsville, but he is not pointing fingers at anyone, it's not his nature.I think he's like John Edward(the SciFi channel physic)....a fake. Since he supports that particular revival as being from God 100% I cannot give my endorsement on this presentation, and his words to me mean nothing but fakery.
I'm not seeing any "talent" displayed hereHe's got a talent but it isn't from God. Sorry.![]()

I used to be completely sucked in by people like John Kilpatrick mainly because they spoke with such authority, I thought they must be right...after all they are so convinced and passionate.
I'm not their judge and I am not speaking out against them, but I can see now that I am not gullible as I once was. We see in the context of our little bubble of limited human experience, but almost all of history since Jesus has been mostly dark. Hitler nearly wiped out the Jews and God spared a remnant not by force and fear, but by His sovereignty and grace behind the scenes working in ways that bring Him glory.
The Jews expected a conquering Messiah and instead He came as a baby in a lowly manger under the care of common people.
Now we expect the conquering Messiah to pierce the sky, yet I believe His Father will wait. I believe that organized Christianity will eventually fade out into the distance. That in the next generations, most people will give up on Jesus coming back and begin to doubt and then inevitably abandon seeking after God altogether and that it will become similar to the time of Elijah or the time of Noah. Only the very few who's hearts belong to God will be caught away.
He doesn't say he knows for sure though he seems to hint he thinks that if the U.S. tries to divide Israel then we will be divided by an earthquake?
Uh-huh. Makes ya' wonder how we survived the 50's and 60's with the little support we gave Israel back then.
The fanatical zealotry evangelicals have for Israel bugs me.
The good thing about this is that it's a specific prophecy, so if nothing happens this summer we will know it is false.
