This is all crazy, and terribly sad.
Last Friday on my way home from work I saw *something* happen on the road, but it was still way ahead of me. Before I got up to the area emergency vehicles were already coming. I was directed toturn around and take an alternative route home.
I figured a deer was hit.
Monday when I went to work I heard about a *stupid 18 year old* that was killed. Aparrantly he was standing on a sideboard (I think) when the truck was going about 60mph. He fell off and was ran over.
Today I'm home from work, not feeling good. I checked my e-mail and Mom had sent me a message starting with:
I have some bad news. Do you remember Mark ****, the kid you babysat when he was a baby, the one that you taught how to tie his shoes when he was four....
Why on earth do stupid actions have to end with such harsh results? Mark was a great kid, full of joy and love. It always amazes me, what idiots people can be, but even more - it hurts how some are not given a second chance to see the error of their ways.
I vowed long ago NOT to cry at anymore deaths of people I know, but that just isn't the case here. Mark just had so much to offer the world.
