That could well be. That depends on ones view of mythology. Although I presented mythological view from the Bible viewpoint, personally I do not subscribe to it. I simply believe it crept into ancient cultures based upon their views of the heavens when the solar system was in a time of upheaval. What they observed in the heavens they simply related to things they could understand. They took thier myths of demi-gods and combined them with the events they saw within the heavens. And yes, one does not even need to add religion to understand the myths that were past civilizations entire cultures. Without gods, the peoples of the past would have no culture. I simply believe they witnessed planets being ejected from the sun in a time of planetary upheaval. Which is why all the gods of mythology were born, ruled for a time and then went away. But the Bible does tell us not to accept these gods as real, but merely events in the heavens (space).

I no more accept all religious beliefs than I accept all scientific claims. Each part must be based upon relating evidence. There is just as much error in modern science as there is error in modern religious beliefs. I no more believe man can explain God, then man can explain the universe at this point in time.

Dear Dad, They were the moving creatures which were destined to look exactly like Humans, but were not the descendants of Adam, the first Human. That's because God (Elohim-the Trinity) CREATED them and brought them forth from the water on the 5th Day. Genesis 1:21

Cain married one of these people since there were NO other humans for him to marry, unless you can show us where Cain married an Angel which you CANNOT. Genesis 6:4 prophecies that the same thing will happen again and it does when Noah's grandsons, like Cain, had NO other humans to marry on our Earth. The old testament can be hard to interpret properly. There is a need to have reference and context as to those times and meanings. You have to be careful with how you interpret it and seek additional support. It can be easy to misinterpret a word and throw the whole context of a passage out to mean something else. Just because its the bible doesn't mean the people who wrote it didn't have an element of their own perspective when it came to relaying the stories and scriptures.

Dear Heissonear, Amen. It's been some 37 years ago when I first began telling people of what Genesis is actually saying. I have now been online for more than 17 years and NO one has refuted me Scripturally and I have never had ANY problem with ANY Bible believing Christian.

My opponants are atheists, agnostics, and phonies, who wear the garments of Religionists. If that doesn't mature you, I don't know how you can be challenged. Try it and you will learn to lean on God's Holy Word for it NEVER lets you down. God Bless you.

Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 contradict each other if you read them as literal scientific creation stories (yes, plural, there are two).

In fact, I don't even read them as creation stories. I think they are theodicies. They are there to teach spiritual truths, not to draw conclusions about the biological history of mankind. Man fell, God will redeem... that is the message of Genesis 1 and 2.

Science reveals His handiwork... and what you are saying is so totally and utterly in conflict with science that I don't even know where to start with a refutation.

How do you think Adam survived for 13 billion years? And on what planet was he on for those first 13 billion years? What planet are you on?

Dear Sayre, Then you must believe that God made an error when He authored the first two chapters of the Bible? It's your interpretation which is incorrect. Here is the sequence:

Genesis chapter 1 is the complete History of God's 6 Days, including future events at the end of the present 6th Day
The first 3 verses of Genesis 2 speaks of a future time when ALL the host of heaven, which includes humans, are in heaven.

At Genesis 2:4, we are taken BACK to the 3rd Day, the Day the Earth was made, and additional details are shown. This is TRUE throughout the rest of the Bible since Scripture shows us DETAILS of the 7 Days of God's Creation written in the first 34 verses of God's Holy Word.

We live today at Genesis 1:27 since God is STILL creating mankind (Adam) in His Image or in Christ. We will not advance to the Prophecy of Genesis 1:28-31 until AFTER Jesus returns to this Earth. Isaiah 11
