  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Challenge For Creationists

Why do creationists always ask for evidence of evolution but provide no evidence for creation? There is plenty of evidence for evolution, but none for creation (outside of the Bible).

I have a challenge for creationists. Give me ONE piece of CREDIBLE evidence (no Kent Hovind stuff) for creationism.

I find the same thing to be true for evolutionists. I have not seen any reasonable evidence for evolution. I want the same thing from an evolutionist.

A brief summary of the scientific evidence for evolution:

Opps, did you get that backwards. Do you mean there is plenty of evidence for creation but none for evolution?

The evidence is in a demonstration of the power of God. The signs, wonders, healing and miracles confirm that the word of God has been preached.

Up to now what little truth has been presented has not been confirmed, but that is all going to change starting at 11 o'clock New Years Eve. For the next 7 years, the stage is ours and we will demonstrate the power of God.

You can have a nice theory about an atomic bomb. But the proof of splitting the atom is when you actually split the atom. When the power of God is demonstrated, that is evidence in and of itself.

The resurrection power of God is more powerful than anything else that science is aware of. Because it is the resurrection power of God that can raise people from the dead.

Ok, the Universe is evidence for Creationism. It exists, and had a beginning. It was created.

That is just the beginning for us here. We will be taking this gospel to the whole world in the next 7 years. Or at least to every TV set in the world. The two hour live program on TV will actually only be on our cleveland station.

The TV studio we use was built by Rex Humbards. He was the very first TV Evangelist. The work began here, and God is going to finish it here, in the same studio. Only we will be showing the power of God in signs, wonders, healing & miracles.

Ok, here's my challenge:

This post is the product of Divine inspiration. Last night I was visited by the Holy Spirit, and He explained the whole thing to me. Therefore, everything I am about to write is, by definition, the infalliable Word of God.

God did create the universe. And while God does have an extraordinary eye for detail, He never was a big fan of micromanagement. It takes a lot of grunt work to keep the universe on track, and frankly, God has more important things to worry about. Fate, destiny, the Divine plan, stuff like that.

To handle the minor details of existence, God relies on his little-known partner, Iggy the Magic Elf. Iggy is omnipresent and omniscient, but not quite omnipotent. However, it is only through his diligent work that the laws of nature (physics, gravity, mathematics) are enforced.

In the Divine plan, evolution is a minor detail. Iggy saw God's work in the beginning and humbly suggested that he could improve on it (very humbly. Remember what happened to the last guy who thought he could do better than God?).God found this amusing and decided to let Iggy work on it for a few million years. So you see, creation and evolution are both true, and we have Iggy to thank for it.
Praise Iggy.

My Challenge: Prove me wrong.

This is rather short but...the creation is evidence of a Creator. The fact that order somehow arose out of chaos is compelling evidence that Someone caused this to occur. One creationist that I have been reading said that he would rather believe that a Coke can is a product of random time-plus-chance than you or I are the product of the same mechanism.

Yep, there are two things you do not touch of you want to represent God. You do not touch the gold and you do not touch the glory. Not even one tiny speck of it. It all belongs to God.

Those two areas have caused the downfall of many a preacher.

Ok, what would you call it then, if it had a beginning, and it exists. How did it get here, if you dont like the word, "created." Notice I didn't say who or what created it.

Maybe our Universe sprang into existence as the result of an event in some other Universe. Maybe the beginning of our Universe is the natural consequence of natural phenomema in some larger encompassing "Multiverse".

There are lots of possibilities for the origin of the Universe that don't require a creator. What evidence do you have that enables you to rule them all out?
