  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, I'm not feeling so hot today. Steele had a stomach virus over the weekend and I'm wondering if I caught something from him. I've got chills and feel really tired, despite getting decent sleep last night. It would be really easy for me to go home, make dinner, bathe the kids and lights out for all of us.

BUT....

I'm supposed to start a class at church tonight. It's called The DNA of Relationships. It's for single parents/blended families.

Part of me is feeling chicken b/c I'm putting myself into a new situation (I'm shy in new situatons :blush:). Part of me feels like it's Satan trying to stop me from going. The rest of me is fighting the urge to call out for delivery and go with option A above. :sorry:

What's a girl to do? :sigh:

GO TO THE CLASS!!!

It'll probably be only an hour or an hour and a half right? That isn't that long...and unless you're feeling absolutely horrible, I would make yourself go. If you don't go to the first class then next week you'll say...well, I don't want to go now cause I missed last week and I won't know what's going on and I'll feel weird, etc.

I bet once you get there you'll be happy that you went. :hug:

oooooo, I wish they had classes like that at my church!! :(

But, there's hardly any single parents at my church.....everybody is older and married or younger and married. I feel dumb going to church every week all by myself. :doh:

I say go.....if you feel well enough.

Yeah - I struggled with wanting to join the class at all. But, I decided it's time I start trying to get involved in church activities again. It's been two years since I've been actively involved in ministry (I was an employee of my home church) and I miss it. I have been thinking about volunteering in the baby nursery, too. Not sure about that one yet.

Well, I'm not really sure what the singles population is in my age bracket yet - other than coffee date guy and I'm kinda hoping he's not planning on attending the class. :sorry:

I feel like God is speaking to me about this since I was just telling someone that I wished my church would offer something for single parents. I really want to go tonight...and I really wish I wasn't getting sick - again!

*hangs head* I didn't go last night. But, I was totally prepared to go until I picked up the boys from their schools and Steele was complaining of not feeling well. Mother's intuition said to take them home - so I did. Steele spiked a fever in the middle of the night, so I took him to the dr this morning and he tested positive for strep. So, it's a good thing I didn't take him and infect all the other kids. :sorry:

BUT - I am soooooooo going next week. :thumbsup:

D - did you try out the new church?

Well, I have to hang my head right along with flnativegrl.

I worked late last night and then when I got home my parents wanted me to come down to help them with something at their house so I went and helped them instead of going to the new church...
