My Mom raced to pick me up on 9/11 and she was in tears. When we got home, we were on the news all day, and our jaw was just gaped wide open... we couldn't believe what was happening over in New York and at the Pentagon and we were just so confused...

Every time I hear that song "Where Were You when the world Stopped Turning," it reminds me of how close everyone came together after the sorrows of that day.

I was actually sleeping. I had been sick for a few days with the flu or something. My mom barged into my room and said, "Come on, get up you need to see this." I wasnt sure what was going on. I never knew that the Twin Towers where important to America, until that day. I was infuriated with rage that someone would do that to all them innocent people.

We will NEVER forget!

God Bless America.

This is great RGL1, thanks.

I was still in the grip of alcoholism then, and my wife had gone to work. So when my mother showed up to get my kids ready for school, she woke me, hungover(this is harder to remember than I thought), and I went to the living room to turn the tv on and the cable tv was out of commission, so I had to switch the tv over to the roof antenna where we got one network station.

I'm sure I watched with the same mix of horror, sadness, fear and bewilderment that most everyone did.

I don't remember much else that day except that I used it for a reason to get drunk (like I needed one) a little earlier than normal.

I heard this morning on the radio on the corral ridge program with D. James Kennedy, some things that were going on that day that we didn't know at the time. I'm sure God heard from many people he hadn't heard from in a while, like me.

I was traveling in my car with the radio on - I'm a nurse and I travel a lot - I was on my way to the main office when I heard - I had no doubt it was an attack, but hoped earnestly I was wrong.... I got to the office and had them turn on a radio - we all listened as the second plane hit - as first one and the second tower fell.... with reports coming in about the Pentagon and the plane in PA...... in my gut I *knew* there were more coming and counted it to the immediate grounding that more didn't - and I think I'm still right..... I have been preaching we were in a war for some 10 years prior to these events and for a brief moment thought the rest of the country would get it..... but then the PC damage control crew immediately went into over drive and the country was told to go back to sleep...... I've been angry and crying ever since - those who lost their lives should not have lost them in vain, that is, their loss should have forever rid this country of the 9/10 mentality and we should hence forth be working collectively with a 9/12 mentality - alas that is not to be..... depression is hopeless anger turned inward, because there is no target you can reach with the reason -- I am deeply depressed over the eventual outcome of the War on Terror in the next 10 years.....

I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted - but this is what I felt and experienced that day and in the immediate days to follow when the loudest hue and cry was "we need to look at our selves and find out what we have done to drive people to such desperate measures." PC at it's finest and inevitable outcome - always blame the victim, esp if they seem bigger than the perp....

I don't know if this thread is ending or not.

I will check back later.

For now I will just say my town has a beautiful memorial in our local park to those who lost their lives from our town.

I was at work that day, in a medical manufacturing plant, where we were only allowed to use headphones to listen to the radio. The president of the company came in and told us to take our headphones off; we all needed to hear this at the same time. For a room of about 120 women, all you could hear was the radio; there was utter shocked silence from us all. When the story about Flight 93 came on, we were in double shock... we are located not far from where the plane went down in Somerset County.
I don't know what the others were feeling; I can only speak for myself. Shock, grief, anger, hopelessness, confusion... It is a day I will never forget.
May our Lord keep the victims, survivors and their families in His care. We, as a whole, were all affected by this tragedy in some way. May He keep a ever loving hand upon all of us.

My son and I were starting our homeschooling day...I know we were watching something on t.v., but apparently it just may have been on tape, because it wasn't interupted by the news.

My mother called me and said something like - "are you watching channel 7?" Now, I knew she always watched Regis and Kathy Lee, and thought she wanted me to see something on there. I said no, and I'm doing something else right now, so I can't switch to it.

Well she called back shortly or else I decided to switch and check it out afterall, I can't remember which.

But there was the sight we all can never forget. We saw the second plane hit and we saw the buildings fall.

I remember thinking that it seemed SO unreal, because we've seen so many special effects in movies over the years. I just couldn't wrap my head around what I was seeing.

My husband works in a financial services company and I was so relieved when his company sent everyone home, I started to cry, since by then I had heard that it was the financial district that was hit...who knew if they'd aim for others in the same type of work.

A lady from my church was on one of the 2 planes out of Boston.

I'll share more later.
