Christ was taken up bodily, into heaven, in the sight of men, not secretly. He will return in the same way. Literally, physically, from the heavens, in plain sight of men.

If you hear a claim that Christ has already come (secretly) and is this man here, or in that place there - don't follow that man, thinking it is Christ. It isn't. He won't come in that way.

Those are the important similarities. Revelation must be read carefully.

So you believe the words like manner are limited in their scope?

It is the only similarity that I see in these two events in the literal you go up, you go down (though not every eye saw him), but spiritually in us you can come down by coming out.

IMO, yes, that is the connection. And remember Revelation was not revealed for many years after the angel spoke those words.

Mining for "hidden meaning" sometimes uncovers delightful gems, if they point one to Christ. But it more often creates confusion and error, so we must always take care with such practices.

I find the revelation of Jesus Christ to be laid out in the pattern Moses saw on the mount, in the cloud; but it stems out from the very beginning.

Also, I understand the concern (mining), but for me, I havent labored to find anything for a long time now, it simply opens to me (one picture of this is the eating of that which grows of itself, it's to eat freely of all the trees of the garden, which is as individual, as it is collective).
