it's just absolutely great when you come to see all these people turning Christians!

a reverend was saying how if you didn't feel God, then try preaching, for you can most definitely feel Him working when you're spreading the gospel to others.

(1 Chronicles 21:1) Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.

Is it an act of righteousness to count numbers? How many of these new "converts" counted the cost of discipleship? Consider what Jesus says:

(Luke 14:27-30) And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. (28) "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? (29) For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, (30) saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'

And again:

(Matthew 23:15) "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

Again, did they take a week or so (Jesus did say to "sit down" to count the cost) to understand that they will be required to give up their wicked ways and pursue righteousness?

Much Grace,
Kevin
