AnarchismThat is why I don't understand conservative anti-government sentiment. Some groups advocate for no government at all.
Those scriptures refer to a person you are saying you are and I am not because I disagree with you, interestingly enough they contain the words "law" and "prosper"
From what Scripture says plainly , Genesis through Revelation,
you certainly DON'T want to know.
Instead, what is it Jesus said for all of us to do ?
What is it Jesus said each one of us was to give to others (physically) ?
Something we have,
or something we don't have ?
Remember He said , and Yochanan the immerser said,
"If you have TWO shirts.....
not
"If you have ONE shirt....
and so on....
That was then. Today we are awash in inexpensive imported clothing. Goodwill and other such outlets have tons of clothing that the poor access. A bit of humorous irony though. My late boss, a man of considerable wealth, got all his work clothes from Goodwill.
I believe you're right. I've never seen the divisions in this country to be so extremely polarized than they have been during this election. It stirs up anger and hatred among the people, even among Christians who are called to love.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
John 13:34-35
Not that I'm arguing entitlement, but you raise an interesting question. Is a person entitled to more money than they need? Who is entitled to 50 million dollars? That's insane.
Godly love itself causes divisions, even among those in our own households. It was meant to do that.

If people accuse us of evil and burn down the neighbor hood, how might we respond with love? What good can we do for them if they treat us like enemies?
A better question might be where is that money and what is it doing? Few rich people can afford to put their money in a mattress. Follow the money, see what it's doing. The money of the rich is often doing much good that might not if broken into smaller piles. Large beneficial projects require the amassing of large amounts of capital.
The division you are most likely referring to refers to division between believer and unbeliever, not between believers. God command us to be separate from the world. Love between believers does not end in division.
Like building mansions?
Disagreements aren't necessarily divisions. I may disagree with how some are "working out their own salvation" but I don't think this causes the divisions you are suggesting.
I was just correcting the misuse of a parable, and the lack of understanding that the scriptures teach us. However, to answer your question, If a man invests in a business and creates Jobs that's not bad. However, if a man invests in a mansion, luxury cars, expensive vacations, clothes and possessions. What will his return be? If we are talking about helping the poor, where is the return on such investments?
Its not my business, you're right. I have stated time and again that I'm not interested in what the unbelievers or government does. I don't care what rich believers do either, but we are talking doctrine here. I'm not judging people, im judging only the proper way of the Gospel.
