Congregating with other believers on a regular basic under a structured format is clearly taught in the bible and practiced through church history.
Agreed.
Of course there are exceptions due to health issues or living in isolated areas and so forth.
We are the Church..it is who we are, not where we go.
Why do you think it is that all of the churches in the NT have names? I don't see where "Church" a person's identity. Do you see the church of "us" described anywhere in the pages of scripture?

If there wasn't already a christian community on Patmos, you can be sure that St John established one there in due time. It's what the Apostles did. Where ever God sent them they preached the Gospel, whether free or in chains made no difference.Dont forget about John on Patmos.

just go read the shepherd of hermas, there is a vision of what the church is in that book. http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/shepherd.htmlWhy do you think it is that all of the churches in the NT have names? That's a lot of reading. Can you give an overview first? Perhaps it may spark my interest.
here is a link to two different translations and a overview of it http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/shepherd.html
it is the most terrible overview ever!
it's about a saint that has visions and gets taught some things by an angel like the prophets used to get taught. the main vision in that book is the vision he has of the church.
I like your positive attitude and educated guess. But it isn't a substantiated fact.If there wasn't already a christian community on Patmos, you can be sure that St John established one there in due time. It's what the Apostles did. Where ever God sent them they preached the Gospel, whether free or in chains made no difference.
I saw frequency in their, but not a rigidity this suggests. Perhaps you could substantiate.Congregating with other believers on a regular basic under a structured format is clearly taught in the bible and practiced through church history.
