Also, the Hebrew word for rested from ALL of His work is written in Hebrew Imperfect Tense, which means the action is not yet complete.
He is the only way. This is true. But He is not a wooden plank with a knob.
For the THIRD time tonight....Gen 2 tells us "1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done"
That's what the bible says. Maybe your bible doesn't say completed.
The rest presented in Gen 2:1-2 PERTAINS to the previous six days. There is no reference to future work.
Is God literally the sun too? And at the same time, literally a shield?
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
he bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does the Lord withhold
from those who walk uprightly. - Psalm 84:11
Post 739...go up two post...say COMPLETED. When you directly contradict the bible and say "action is not yet complete"....I just can't take you seriously.
But if I suggest a certain poster is one, you'd get my drift.
Then tell us of another literal door to Heaven. I don't think you can. Fool me.
Yes, as Jesus showed us when the Sun didn't go down for an entire day as
Jos 10:13 clearly states. IOW, Scripture speaks of Jesus as being brighter than the Sun. Try again?
That's still a metaphor.
No, I don't believe you are. I recant.
Not so, since Jesus IS the cause of the Literal Sun not going down. IF the normal Sun had stopped in Heaven, the Milky Way Galaxy would have been scattered all over the Universe. Jesus was literally the Sun which did not set that Day. If you don't believe me, then believe the Author of Scripture, the Holy Spirit. Amen?
I disagree, man must have been created from the beginning of the Creation, look at the man, Melchisedec, is he not from everlasting? Hebrews 7:3. Nevertheless, Genesis one says that man was made on the sixth day after being created at some earlier time.Adam and Eve BOTH were created at the SAME time and on the SAME Day as is EVERY other Christian. Adam was "formed" on the 3rd Day. Gen 2:4-7....BUT....was not "created" until the 6th Day. Gen 1:27 Eve was made AFTER the beasts of the field and birds on the 6th Day. Gen 2:22 To be "created in God's Image" is to be born again Spiritually, in Christ, and this happened AFTER Cain killed Abel. Gen 5:1-2 Amen?
Scripture says that God created the sun. Are you saying that Jesus is merely a created entity? Literally?

No. I am saying that since Jesus is brighter than the noonday Sun and blinded Saul on the road to Damascus, He is the reason Joshua thought the Sun didn't set. Remember that He is also the light of Heaven. Rev 21:23
Melchisedec is Jesus in the OT. Gen 2:4-7 tells us Adam was formed BEFORE the plants, herbs and rain on the 3rd Day. Eve was NOT made until the 6th Day. Gen 2:22 This is important since BOTH A&E were "created in God's Image" or born again Spiritually in Christ, at the SAME time, AFTER Cain killed Abel. Gen 5:1-2
Well, okay. How do you reconcile the plural form of, "heavens," in Genesis 2:1?
The reason why the 7th day has no evening or morning is because the 7th day exists in the everlasting, from whence comes Genesis 1:1.
The idea that God is "resting" is not true since the Trinity is STILL working today. IF God had already rested (Heb-ceased) from ALL of His work, it would be impossible to be saved today. God's 7th Day has not ending because it's eternity.
I personally have no problem with a 6 day view, as since expansion is claimed to have happened faster than c then the correction for time dilation would be exponential. After all, a thousand years...... What is a day to a God of energy that controls the very thing we are made of and causes the changes to those clocks?
Nor do I have a problem with long periods. After all I certainly do not believe that all the animals were brought before Adam to be named and that he did so in a mere day.
Nor do I believe God would warn Adam about actions that would lead to death and punish him for it if Adam was not aware what death was. I believe Adam was in the garden for an unspecified period in which he not only named all the animals but observed them mating, giving birth and also dying.
How could he understand what death was without ever having observed it?
Of old hast thou laid the foundations....
Do you think the writer of scripture thought a mere 2000 some years were of old?
How long do you think it took Adam to name all the animals?
Did God punish Adam unjustly warning him he would die without him having first hand knowledge of what death was? Animals were born, lived their lives and died, thus Adam understood the punishment for disobedience. Would God punish him without his understanding the consequences? Not my God, maybe yours.
