I think the purpose of Genesis 1:30 is to verify that animals were not privy to every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Okay, what do you need to know?
Sure. I will believe anything. Presumably that light switched itself on and off at twelve hour intervals, as well.
Or the world was rotating...you know, no switch required.
Not so since you, nor anyone else, can show us a time in History when ALL living creatures were Vegetarians:
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
If this verse isn't prophecy, then show us when, in the past, that Lions ate straw like the ox:
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Isa 11:10 ¶ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious.
Jesus is the root of Jesse, who was David's father, which reveals that the prophecy of Gen 1:30 happens AFTER Jesus returns to this planet at Armageddon. If you disagree, then post supporting Scripture which refutes these verses.
Ah, so there was a light source; just not the Sun. So why not just create the Sun, and have done with it?
It's not the way God decided to do it.
Show us of the "everlasting" first Day.
Explain WHY Gen 1:10 tells us the first Earth was made the 3rd Day.
Explain HOW we could still be living in the 3rd Day, Scripturally.
That's correct. It says... In the beginning God created the heavens and earth." That was done before day one began. What we find in Genesis One is the creation of our present world, than now covers over the prehistoric creations that came first. And, the Word of God tells us that God will once again replace our world with a new one. Isaiah prophesied about there is going to be a "new heavens and new earth." That this present creation will not be in anyone's memory. Look here and see that what this present created world will become. It will become like the buried creations of the dinosaurs... https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+65:17-25Genesis 1 is, amongst other things, a quiet polemic against the pagan gods. Whereas they were thought of as having responsibility for different aspects of creation, Genesis 1 is saying that the God of Israel is Creator and Lord of all things.
No God did not create the universe in seven days.

It was found to be in utter chaos and had an eerie sense of emptiness about like. Like a demolished city after an atomic blast had settled down. The Hebrew words are not mildly put as we find in the KJV. It means utter ruin and emptiness. Tohu we bohu is a term for terrible judgement by God. Jeremiah in his warning to rebellious Israel was snatched right out from Genesis 1:2. He was telling them that they were going to end up as the earth was as found in Genesis 1:2! Utter destruction... and empty (in the eerie sense of the word)... Like Hiroshima looked after the atomic blast settled down. Utterly destroyed.The bible tells us the formless and void earth was made on day 1.
The prehistoric world was the pre-flood world that existed between Adam and Noah.
The dinosaurs fossils we find today were a direct result of being buried in the flood sediment.

But Genesis 1:30 is speaking of what the animals have to eat in the everlasting. The tree yielding fruit is not mentioned. My point is that the tree yielding fruit is not mentioned for those of the third day of the Creation, Genesis 9:3. Could this be the result of Genesis 3:24?Why would you think that since the verse you posted says?
I have given every green herb for meat
Green herbs are not Trees.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after His kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after His kind: and God saw that it was good.
The prehistoric world was the pre-flood world that existed between Adam and Noah.
The dinosaurs fossils we find today were a direct result of being buried in the flood sediment.
Oye vey....Not so since the Earth was NOT made until the 3rd Day. Gen 1:10
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth;
Notice that the KJV even capitlized the word Earth.
The earth (Heb-ground) which was made on the first Day was dirt or dust without form. It was part of the air, dust and water which was used by the Light/Jesus to form and shape everything that exists in physical form. On Day 1, it was contaminated by Death/darkness and still is. At the end of the present 6th Day/Age, death will be destroyed:
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Jeremiah 4:23-26
23 I looked at the earth,
and it was formless and empty;
and at the heavens,
and their light was gone.
24 I looked at the mountains,
and they were quaking;
all the hills were swaying.
25 I looked, and there were no people;
every bird in the sky had flown away.
26 I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert;
all its towns lay in ruins
before the Lord, before his fierce anger.
We must find where the Hebrew words are used throughout Scripture to get the correct feel and sense for what was being expressed in Genesis 1:2... It is not some flowery thought ... "formless and empty." Its about judgment and utter destruction of where live once existed. For the old earth which had been run by Lucifer and his angels had come under final judgment, and God wiped it out of existence for its last time (Gen 1:2). Now, in our new created world, man was to have dominion over the earth. No longer angels.
Oye vey....
The planet earth.. and the land found on the planet earth, called "earth"... are not holding the same meaning. For the planet earth also includes water in its make up.
