Day 7 started and God rested. Clearly obvious. There is just no way around it, and according to scripture it has not ended yet.
Where do you get that from? day six came to an end. God did not reverse back to day 6Not quite since God's rest, when He ceases from ALL of His work of creating is future. The present 6th Day will NOT end until the last sinner to be saved is saved and safely within the "host" of Heaven. Gen 2:1
Yes, therefore I do not think anyone who reads the creation account without preconceived ideas will come to the conclusion that it was a 6 day 24 hour period.
Are you suggesting God is still creating and we are in day 6?Not quite since God's rest, when He ceases from ALL of His work of creating is future. The present 6th Day will NOT end until the last sinner to be saved is saved and safely within the "host" of Heaven. Gen 2:1
Well number one scripture is concerned with the Triune and His creation, therefore when one tries to look at the time as literal 6, 24 hour periods, it don't fit. How could we have measured time up until the 4th day when God speaks of the sun and putting it in it's place? Scripture always implies a longer period then 24 hours, and no support for a literal 24 hour 6 day creation.
You just said yourself there are different meanings for the word day. Then why does it say...day 1,2,3 etc, evening and morning?
You do know that the 24 hour long time frame was the "conclusion" until the old earth evolutionist came along and forced their view into scripture.
....so i strongly disagree with your opinion..."anyone who reads the creation account without preconceived ideas will come to the conclusion that it was a 6 day 24 hour period."
You just said yourself there are different meanings for the word day.
Hey, as far as I am concerned scripture does not identify a time, but it sure don't teach a liter 6 day 24 hour period.
And just when do you thing the old earth belief came around?
Are you suggesting God is still creating and we are in day 6?
Are you saying Jesus was in the grave for 3 undisclosed length of time? Perhaps for 3 eons? It surely sounds like you're saying this.
Then why doesn't it say...evening of day 7? This is what your theory needs to make it work.
...I'm not going to argue your cult like heresy.....Now, if you can present a web site from a respected denomination perhaps I'll take a look. But as far as I can tell you are the only one with your belief. Until you can do that I consider refuting you pretty much a waste of time.Jesus was in the grave Fri, Sat and rose again on Sun, the 3rd Day. Since He was a man, he was subject to the movement of the Stars within our 2nd Heaven.

If so, then your not hearing correctly. Are you saying Jesus was in the grave for 3 undisclosed length of time? Perhaps for 3 eons? It surely sounds like you're saying this.
That's another subject.Amen. Just ask any Gospel preacher if you can STILL be created Eternally in Christ. God will NOT rest (cease creating) until the "host" of Heaven is complete. Gen 2:1 AFTER Heaven is filled with it's Christian host, Jesus will return and give mankind dominion or rule over every living creature, including Angels. Gen 1:28 and 1Co 6:3
That's another subject.
Whether we are in the 6th day or 7th has nothing to do with the discussion about the age of the earth. Well, it does actually but it can also be a rabbit trail.
The early Christians...Barnabus in this example understood the days to be 24 hour long period of times. Keep in mind this text is extra biblical and not to be taken as inspired...but it does show their belief in a literal six day creation. If the days were "eons" then what Barnabus wrote wouldn't work.
15:2 And in another place he saith, If my sons shall
keep my sabbath, then will I place my mercy upon them.
15:3 He speaketh, too, of the sabbath in the
beginning of the creation: And God made in six days
the works of his hands, and finished them on the
seventh day, and rested in it and sanctified it.
15:4 Consider, my children, what signify the words,
He finished them in six days. They mean this: that in
six thousand years the Lord will make an end of all
things, for a day is with him as a thousand years. And
he himself beareth witness unto me, saying: Behold
this day a day shall be as a thousand years.
Therefore, my children, in six days, that is in six
thousand years, shall all things be brought to an end.
15:5 And the words, He rested on the seventh day,
signify this: After that his Son hath come, and hath
caused to cease the time of the wicked one, and hath
judged the ungodly, and changed the sun and the moon
and the stars, then shall he rest well on the seventh
day.

Foghorn, you do realize if God used long time periods to create....including evolution to create man rather then what Genesis informs us....T.U.L.I.P. fails.

No, but I sure am interested in how you come to that conclusion. Care to explain?Foghorn, you do realize if God used long time periods to create....including evolution to create man rather then what Genesis informs us....T.U.L.I.P. fails.
