so you don't think you have the ability to parse these issues yourself, but are dependent on a senator's evaluation of them? perhaps for you this is best. the rest of us are thinking for ourselves.

The fact that there has to be an African American first or even a woman first, shows accomplishment despite a history of racism and sexism. How is it you are incapable of drawing such a simple conclusion is beyond me.

yes, gq, overcoming the entrenched racism of this country repeatedly and doing things that have been denied black people historically is a great accomplishment and points to a unique and powerful character. some of us recognize it and are inspired by it. others see it as a punchline.

You cannot name one McCain accomplishment. Not one. You've brought nothing to the table. Being a war veteran is irrelevant in the way of accomplishments in the political arena. Being elected or running for office, according to you in a previous post, is not accomplishment. Of course you consider that to be the case for your candidates. Why don't you go inform yourself about your candidate and come back here with a bill he supported that you agree with or something.

it came to me rather readily. i understand how you struggled with it. these were huge accomplishments that took vision and courage and determination. how sad to feel you must minimize them for some partisan purpose. how small it must feel. can you tell us about that? i simply can't relate at all.

LOL!!! Yeah totally irrelevant considering there are Nations that would love to wipe the U.S.A. off the map, but that's right, with the left, there isn't such a thing as evil in the World to worry about.

He wasn't just a War Veteran, but a decorated War Veteran who declined to be released early from being a tortured POW in a North Vietnamese prison. He's been tested and didn't sell out the Country under the test. obama hasn't even done anything close to even the boy scouts, but he has made a lot of Radical friends, Ayers, Odinga, Reverend Wright, and people who hate America and would love to see its demise. I wouldn't expect you to understand unless you were American though.

And none of this lends to helping him taking the most powerful position in our nation. He supported this failure of a war. He admits that he really doesn't understand economics and that he would need a VP that does but what does he go and do? Finds the most unqualified person available to quicken his campaign. He has a short temper and he is erratic. All though the kicker for me was when he addressed the audience/nation during the 3rd debate as "my fellow prisoners". You have to wonder what that kind of experience does to a person.

Sorry to tell you this, but the days of power brawn are long gone. The modern world requires brain brawn. Obama is even tempered and thoughtful. He doesn't jump from one position to the next, that is clear. He has very specific priorities that span years. Just look at McCain in 2000. He objected to Bush's tax cuts with fervor and now embraces them and for what? Political wind that he needs to catch now because he knows this is his last chance.

It's unlikely you know anything about these characters beyond sounds bites that were spoon fed to you.
