I see claims, and ad homs, I don't see sourced figures. You could support ten divisions on that border and still not even touch the cost that drugs put upon this country. Not to mention welfare and education costs currently going to illegal aliens, and also not figuring the suppressed wages and lost jobs in the entire southwest due to same. To even raise the challenge is ludicrous.
I actually could produce my birth certificate and passport if allowed to travel home...
so yes, I would be able to produce them to a court of law on the same day with no problem. I do carry my driver's license. I often have my passport card in my wallet too. You are supposed to have a copy of your birth certificate, social security card (official one), car registration...and always carry your driver's license if driving. These are normal legal documents for a citizen to have in their possession.
I wouldn't consider these normal documents aside from a license, which I know plenty who don't have them (including my one cousin).I actually could produce my birth certificate and passport if allowed to travel home...so yes, I would be able to produce them to a court of law on the same day with no problem. (My passport card proves my citizenship without providing a birth certificate)
Not just eminent domain either - straight up violation of treaties and Native American sovereignty along 75 miles of the border that belong to a native American tribe.Physical challenges; the political/economic ones are another kettle of fish.
5 challenges Trump may face building a border wall
Their bullet points; my commentary.
1. The terrain is very rough in some areas
Anywhere Trump can't build a wall easily is going to add delays and expenses... anywhere he can't build it at all is going to be a gap which needs to be covered... somehow.
2. Unlike the Western border states, most of Texas is privately owned
Trump's no stranger to "eminent domain," so let's see how Texas reacts to being on the wrong end of it from President Trump.
3. Most of the border is natural, but a human-made barrier is not
Just going to build a wall along the river, eh? Have we forgotten that rivers flood?
4. Surveillance makes the barrier effective
Obvious, really -- 2,000 miles of wall is going to require 2,000 miles of 24/7 surveillance... will Mexico be paying for that, too? Another Spanish I.O.U. in Trump's handwriting?
5. Migrants are determined and often have few options
Having already established that a wall is not the solution to the majority of our illegal immigration woes, Trump seems to be relying heavily on the "intimidation factor" in it -- but considering that many illegal border crossers are either seriously desperate to get away from something, or worse, drug cartel mal hombres, there's very little to be intimidated by.
How about minors? Are we going to expect children to carry around birth certificates at all times? My daughter can't remember where she put her shoes last night 3 mornings out of 5, I'm sure she can be trusted with a document like her birth certificate.I don't have a passport. And producing my birth certificate might leave me at the mercy of the yahoos at the state capitol... whom I trust as far as I can kick.
If you drive... but not having one doesn't prove you're not a citizen.

No, sorry you fell for a hoax (one of many on the topic, all purporting the be a Guatemala/Mexico fence or wall). This is the kind of border wall Mexico builds.....complete with barbed wire and armed guard towers

I'm reminded of the simpson's episode where Native Americans build a parade float out of broken treaties.Sadly, breaking Native American treaties isn't a problem; it's a tradition.

Your picture is a fence Israel put up along part of the Egypt border: FALSE: Mexico-Guatemala Border Wall
Or shovels! They get to a construction site and just stare.Well known fact, Mexicans can't use ladders or ropes.
You're welcome. In reality there is little fencing on the Mexico Guatemala border and the only place it exists is at official crossings. You are correct. I was wrong. I found it when looking up some other information and saw multiple pictures claiming to be the same wall. I usually look and this time didn't do my fact checking. Thank you for correcting me.
Weren't you talking about trawling the schools a minute ago?ARe you kidding? You simply need to be able to produce it. I had to produce my kids every year to simply play little league baseball and their coach had to have a notebook with a copy of each of his player's which he had to be able to produce at every tournament to prove their legal age if anyone challenged it.
And what happens when the person you shoot/summarily execute turns out to be an innocent landowner going about their business?Well, maybe if we had paroles that would shoot them if caught that would deter more, as well.
Why would such a person be crossing the border? And what happens when the person you shoot/summarily execute turns out to be an innocent landowner going about their business?
Many people own land on both sides of the border. Then of course there are hikers (remember Iran capturing those hikers who wandered a little over the border?), etc.Why would such a person be crossing the border?
Farming? Hiking? Bird watching? Who knows? That's why shooting on site or land mines are a bad idea. Why would such a person be crossing the border?
Would such a person use violence though, or refuse to stop when asked? Many people own land on both sides of the border.
