40's Knowledge

What have you learned (about life or things) since you've been in your 40's?

I learned that I can like who I am. That I can be more vocal about things. That I don't have to feel bad if someone doesn't like me. I have loved being in my forties. Physically, I feel better than at any other time in my life. Mentally, I'm still learning new things and enjoying it. Emotionally, I'm learning WHY I've felt the way I have and that I don't have to stay stuck in the things that brought me down for most of my life. God still has a plan for me.

I have learned to RELAX and ENJOY things more...more patient with myself and others; more tolerant and compassionate with my and others faults and shortcomings. I have learned to laugh more and found that I am pretty wise.I have learned that I have been tremendously blessed and I am tremendously thankful for the life that God has given me...I would not trade WHERE I am for any age!

Don't believe everything your doctor tells you. He told me that I should slow down and act my age. I have discovered that grandmothers can and do go camping!

No matter how much knowledge I have accumulated, I still have much to learn...
I certainly don’t know it all, and need to rely on the Lord with greater passion...

I learned that really wonderful things can come out of really bad situations. I also learned that as my mother used to tell us, when it comes to bad stuff - this too shall pass.

Most importantly, I'm continuing to learn to appreciate everything that God is giving me (the good and the bad), to appreciate today and not worry about what's going to happen in the future - God will give me the strength to deal with tomorrow and all it encompasses.
