4 yr old with a brain tumor

Prayers needed for my 4 year old cousin Julia, who we found out today has a brain tumor.


UPDATE 7th Oct 2013: Sweet Julia passed away this morning. Please continue to pray for her parents and all the family.

I command that healing take place because Jesus bore our sicknesses and ailments on the cross so that we would not have to bear them again ourselves and by His stripes we are healed! Well today has been long but the Lord has been with us every step of the way. The neurosurgeons decided not to perform an MRI today, but they are thoroughly looking over her previous MRI pictures and trying to determine more about it. I have felt the peace of God sitting in this hospital room. Me, Josh, and Julia all got 8hrs of sleep last night. We woke up in good spirits knowing the Lord has got us in the palm of his hand. Julia ate a good meal today and walked for a while!! She is sitting in bed right now watching sleeping beauty. (Her new favorite!) [...] Chapel Hill has been great to us and very attentive to Julia. We are believing that God will heal her and asking everyone to stand with us, because Jesus died to take this tumor away from her sweet little body and all we have to do is rest in his goodness.

No new update yet, but I wanted to post this, written by my cousin David, Julia's grandfather:

1. We as a family are asking that everyone pray not just that Julia be healed, but specifically that God give us the supernatural faith we need to believe for her healing. We don't have enough strength or faith or hope to fight this except that He give it to us.

2. We are asking that everyone pray everyday at 1:00pm. Any of us that are here in Chapel Hill are going to gather at her bedside at 1:00pm everyday and pray for her. If everyone else that is not here would just say a quick prayer for her at that time everyday (or any other time of day you want - we are not proud, we will take prayer from anywhere).

3. We as a family have made a covenant that we will NOT accept any verdict, prognosis, outcome, etc. from any doctor, nurse, specialist, etc. as the FINAL outcome. It may be that God will give an answer on this that will break our hearts, but we will accept that answer ONLY from HIS HAND. Just as King David prayed and fasted and sought God's face for his infant son until God's will was clear, so will we pray, fast, and seek His face until He heals her or until we are all together again someday.

4. We as a family feel very strongly at this time that we want to make worship and praise for our Lord Jesus the center of prayers for Julia. Please continue to pray for her healing, but we want everyone to focus on Him and praise and pour offerings of spiritual worship and love out before Him. He is the center of all things and only He can heal Julia. We ask that everyone worship Hm and place Him in the center of all of this.

Thanks for all your love, prayers, and support - We are so grateful to each and everyone of you. Our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed sovereign and loves us with a very furious and fierce love and our family absolutely trusts Him with this and with Julia.

Father God, I pray for Your loving mercy over this child. I pray that You will see this family's pain and heal little Julia. Help this family to exercise the faith You have already given them. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 Yes LORD, may they see Julia healed in their hearts, even before a healing is visible for all to see. Strengthen them all, little Julia, all her family and friends, grant them impeccable strength and faith to overcome this trial. Update from Jessica:

Hey Everyone,
Today has been a waiting day. The Neurosurgeon told us that he feels he can get a biopsy of the tumor to figure out what kind it is. He said it looks like a Glioma, but is atypical of one. He feels strongly that a biopsy of the tumor will give us different treatment options and possibly a cure. She will have her surgery at 10am tomorrow (8/29 Wednesday). It is a fairly risky procedure but it also is worth it to find out exactly what we are dealing with. If part of the tumor is visibly out of the brain stem the surgeon might remove it during the biopsy. It is expected to be a 3-4 hour surgery. Please pray during this time that God will guide the surgeons hands and hold Julia during this time. She has been playful and happy today playing with playdough, reading books, and watching my little pony. I know that God will heal her one way or another. Either he will use the doctors to cure her, or he will remove that tumor himself. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. I know she will pull through fine!! We love you all and appreciate all the love you are sending our way. We will be back in ICU after her surgery and will not be able to have many visitors. Spread the word so everyone can be praying during her surgery!!

Surgery update:

The Surgeons just came out and spoke with us and told us that they stopped the surgery before they had gotten to the brain stem because her oxygen saturation dropped. They don't know why but felt it was too dangerous to do today. They are going to try again tomorrow using an NPA instead of intubation. They are getting ready to wake her up. The surgeon said her safety came first so he did not feel comfortable with continuing. Please keep praying that she will have a good night and the surgery tomorrow will go well!!
