I've been very excited to see this since the trailers came out as well. We have an IMAX nearby but of course those tickets sold out a week in advance, stupid me. But we did get to see it in DLP. Anyways, cinematography wise the movie was beautiful. It will set the bar much higher from now on. It's pretty gory but I think you all knew and expected that. However, my husband and I are in our mid twenties and were ok with the violence. I saw families with young children in our viewing. This is not in any way a movie for young kids to see.

One more thing I want to mention to anyone who hasn't seen it yet - unbeknown to me the film has several scenes of partial female nudity and even one of men. My husband covered his eyes, but still. Those scenes were completely unnecessary and detracted from the movie IMO. Had I known about them beforehand I wouldn't have gone. Wish that Clean Flicks company was still operating. Anyways, just wanted to warn everyone. Besides that it was a very good movie.

yes the movie was very funny at times, I love the cocky attitudes and one liners "oh its just an eye" any way i think lord of the rings return of the king and 300 kinda set the limit for epic movies. i mean how much more soldiers and huge scale battle scenes do you think hollywood will push? same for horror movies how much blood and violence can you have.
