This makes me mad as hell! Either we withdraw all troops from harm's way or Shock and Awe the Iranians. Having our kids picked off one by one is not right. Just like the Iranian-backed Houthis and the mess in the Red Sea eventually, they'll get lucky and kill innocent civilians trying to make a living and the target is us. and UK .
What might that be?All-out fight or all-out flight. Maybe there is a wiser approach that can take out the bad guys without escalating the situation.
Something to do with drones, missiles and seals perhapsWhat might that be?
What is the result of using all these? I come at this from an American standpoint and I don't know how much skin NATO has in the game, or how many members are killed but I hear Americans on my media. The Iran-backed Houthis are targeting innocent civilians on ships in the Red Sea and who are providing support to them. Eventually, someone is going to die there.Something to do with drones, missiles and seals perhaps
Did you know that the US has also sponsored terrorists, in places like Cuba, Colombia, Italy and Nicaragua? How many of the ducks in the pond need to be killed before it should be a Hot war or withdrawal? When the media says Iran backed that's all I need to hear. It's easy to ride the fence when you have no skin in the game. I can place myself in a parent's shoes and imagine the day I receive a telegram.
In my mind, there are only two. Since you didn't mention withdrawal you accept the status quo. If we can withdraw from Afghanistan what about the rest of the Middle East?
We've done a lot of nasty things for regime change and for whatever we did in the past. I can't think of one that did us any good. Thank you for the information I need to read about that.Did you know that the US has also sponsored terrorists, in places like Cuba, Colombia, Italy and Nicaragua?
I'm not saying this to distract from Iran being bad because of sponsoring this terrorism, but to suggest that maybe "shock and awe" without any other consideration isn't the best strategy. Or can you imagine Italy shock-and-awing the USA?
Wanting to strike back with full force is a natural human instinct that does not serve us well on the stage of international politics. Things are far too complicated and interlinked for things to get too much out of hand. We've done a lot of nasty things for regime change and for whatever we did in the past. I can't think of one that did us any good. Thank you for the information I need to read about that.
That's why we should withdraw.Wanting to strike back with full force is a natural human instinct that does not serve us well on the stage of international politics.
I don't hear of NATO forces being killed maybe they are. We have a target on our back in the Middle East. Is Jordan helping at all? Why are we there? I hate to sound mean but I don't care what our allies think if they are not participating. For example, how will your allies perceive you if you start another fire in the middle east? What will be the reaction of countries which house US bases in the middle east? How would you even attack Iran? That country is no pushover. How will the internal resistance of the people of Iran against their regime suffer? What will happen to the raw materials and products Iran exports?
It must be hard. I personally have nothing against a military tradition. To serve ones nation is an honorable deed. Yet when you see who controls a nation, you can't help but feel the nobility sucked out of it.I agree, My boys were coming to age and talked about joining the military. Then the Benghazi issue came up and thats when I realized that the government didn't care about our kids. Now it's all about regime change. Yes, we do have a hard decision to make but the status quo makes me sick to my stomach.
I am a patriot and maybe a little brainwashed back then in our fight against communism. I would go fight tomorrow if the government needed people. It might take this old dude a little while to get in shape lol I was adamant against my son's joining. We have a decline in enlistment and maybe more parents feeling the same way I did. As you mentioned before what are we there for? What's our mission? I think most of the countries we are in don't like us but tolerate us. One giant conundrum! It must be hard. I believe you did right by your son. There must be a purpose to serve. The service can't be the end in itself. It is true the US military has no purpose or aim in these nations. It's nothing more than trying to win a friend when it's obvious to all they are not interested. At best they tolerate you at worst they undermine you while ripping the benefits from you.I am a patriot and maybe a little brainwashed back then in our fight against communism. We "got into this mess" when the Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shaw. Iran has believed its been in a war with the US since then, and there's no reason not to take them at their word...."shock and awe" over Bagdad is how we got into this mess in the first place.

I know our meddling, just like Ukraine. We "got into this mess" when the Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shaw. Iran has believed its been in a war with the US since then, and there's no reason not to take them at their word.
