Best line of the night:

Jack Bauer: Come on... show me your head...
Evil Russian: (peeks his head out from behind the crate)
Jack Bauer: *BANG BANG*

So... were we supposed to understand that the Vice President is doing his secretary?
That's how I understood it.

I think Wayne is so hopped up on adrenaline shots that he doesn't know what he's doing.

A Chloe-free episode makes me sad :(

ETA: The whole "Fayed distrusts Gredenko" thing didn't fly with me. They've been together for most of the day, Fayed had no reason not to trust Gredenko, and as far as I could tell they didn't have an adversarial relationship. Why all of a sudden was he all distrustful about where and how to meet up with him? That 10-minute "I'm not waiting" deadline thing? Made no sense. Fayed needed those codes to pull off his plan, which he was not willing to compromise as evidenced by his comment to his cronies before he left for the meeting.

I did love Gredenko turning the tables on him in the bar, though.

So... Operation Stop Bombs is complete.

And now Operation Save Audrey Raines has begun?
Looks that way. When they got the bombs, I said to my husband, "So how are they going to finish out the season?" Five minutes later I was all, "Ohhhhhhh!" :D

Actually, when Audrey called, I felt 24 would finally get back on track for this season. There's nothing like Jack and a little, "It's personal" to add some excitement into the mix.

Best line of the night: Doyle looking around at a half dozen dead bodies on the ground and Fayid hanging from a chain, and "Damn, Jack." LOL.

I suppose so. The Chinese guy has got to get his comeupance.

I wonder if this somehow ties into the "deal" that Palmer made with them to gain Jack's release at the start of the season? Like, maybe Palmer gave them Audrey to hold as collateral/hostage until Jack solved the nuke crisis, guaranteeing them that Jack would return to try and rescue Audrey. There have been a couple of things that Wayne Palmer has done, like suddenly deciding to go ahead and nuke the Arab country, that lead me to believe that his moral character is not quite up to par with what his brother David's was.

It's too bad Gredenko died. It severed a tie to the "cabal" that has been running these attacks of the last several seasons from behind the scenes. The men who were controlling Jack's brother,Graeme, the bluetooth man. I think those guys need to exposed and brought down, and Jack is just the guy to do it.

Did you notice that in last week's episode, they didn't show Gredenko having his arm chopped off? I'll bet the scene was in there originally and they cut it due to the public outcry over violence on the show.

Did anyone notice how nobody in the President's office EVER made specific mention as to "which" country the ambassador belonged to? (aka the country that Abu Fayed was from, aka the country where they captured the sellout general)?

They always said, "the country" or "Your country" or "that country".

Funny. Why didn't they just say Canada. We ALL know those terrorists were Canadian.

Oooh, this is a good thought, I like it! But if you think about the facts don't really add up - When Jack was at CTU earlier today he looked at Audrey's 'death' file which had to be pulled from archives. So this purported death had to have happened at least months ago. And remember Jack was only released from the Chinese just a few hours ago - they probably took a few hours to think about their plans after releasing Jack and then decided to call him. My guess is that they've had Jack and Audrey in custody at the same time, they just didn't know about each other. Still don't the Chinese have excellent timing, calling just when Jack has wrapped things up? :D

Prior to this episode many fans (myself included) were speculating that next season would be Jack in China hunting down Audrey's killers. When they first broker her 'death', I have to admit a tiny, seasoned tv watcher voice in the back of my head said "What if she's not really dead?" But that voice died and was forgotten as the season went on and progressed. At the end of the episode I was left wondering like everyone else "What's the rest?" and was still shocked with the reveal of Audrey.

:D Lol! I guess I was assuming they were Iranian. Don't know why but I've been thinking that all along. Anyway, I knew the girlfriend thing wasn't over. They planted the seed a few episodes back that that storyline was going to intersect with the bomb thing.

The Jack thing at the warehouse was almost funny. I'm beginning to wonder how many lives does Jack Bauer have? The guy survives everything. Of course, this show is all just pure male fantasy. I think every guy out there imagines himself to be Jack Bauer!^_^

Thankfully, we didn't have to see much of Chloe last night. I think the writers need to kill her off and bring in somebody else. Maybe they could send her on a dangerous mission like to China to get Jack's girlfriend.

What's so wrong with me thinking that I'm Jack Bauer from time to time? Hehe. And I think Chloe adds a certain something with her demeanor to CTU. I would miss her if she would ever be killed off.
If I remember correctly, Veritas has never seen the season with Rambo Chloe. It's hard to appreciate Morris's Girlfriend Chloe if you've never seen her taking out a city block with an uzi. ;)

I'd hate to see anything happen to either Chloe or Bill. The rest of the team hasn't captured me at all. Milo and that female agent, she's so impactful I can't even think of her name, are totally useless. Doyle just doesn't have the charisma that Tony had. I could do without Morris also. The relationship between him and Chloe just didn't take.

I'm so glad they are bringing Audrey back into the picture. It makes it personal for Jack once again and that makes for a better show.

You be right, sleepy goober! Maybe if I did see her in a different light, I'd have more appreciation for her. But I do know from people I talk to, that she is the least liked at CTU. Everybody has an opinion.

Well, Chloe has been important for many seasons. This season, they have not utilized her as much as past seasons. There are only 3 people Jack trusts that I can see: Bill Buchanon, Audrey Rains and Chloe.

Just my opinion.

Can you guys believe that we still haven't heard a peep about President Logan since he's been stabbed?
I know. Not even a mention from Bill Buchanan to Jack, who was sooooo concerned about letting him off the property in the first place!

Wayne Palmer and Karen Hayes?
I don't think there's been enough time for a trustful relationship between those two yet. Karen perhaps in a little while, but Wayne has the stigma of also being the Pres, which I don't think is too high on Jack's trust list right now :p

SO. Last night. I didn't even see the first 20 minutes and from what I can tell I didn't miss much. I've got to say this season is disappointing. Recycled plot lines, extremely predictable outcomes, wacky surprises that just don't fit. I am glad that Audrey is alive but I think it would have made a much better next season, not trying to do a 180 in this one. So President Wayne strokes out and the creepy VeeP takes over with a sinister agenda. Shocking! It was a very meh episode for me.

I feel the same way, GodRockDJ. I feel awful, but 24 is really starting to bore me this season.

I actually WANT them to kill Audrey Raines so that Jack can go home and get some sleep.

Then I want Tom Lennox to kill the Vice President so that HE can go home and get some sleep.

Then I want Charles Logan to come back, confess that he's actually an alien from outer space... and then die so that Martha and Aaron can get some sleep.
