  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's a real scary thought, however God wants everyone to come to repentance, and that Hell wasnt made for humans but for Satan and his Demons, i wished that it didnt exist however its a place where God has no place in, and so dont we!!

Hell is where the heart is.

Very true. Reminds me of something I read the other day about the moral line between good and evil not being between people but in each of our hearts. It was written by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn during his time in the Gulag:

It was only when I lay there on rotting prison straw that I sensed within myself the first stirrings of good. Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart, and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. Even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained; and even in the best of all hearts, there remains a small corner of evil.
…. If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?”

There are far more parts in the Bible where it describes "Hell" as destruction by fire, not eternal torment. Even the parts that would hint at eternal torment are vague and have good explanations as to why they don't refer to a torture chamber. That a loving God would make his children suffer forever instead of a quick death drives more people away from Him than it brings in.

I suggest that anyone interested in learning the other point of view look up Annihilationism and see what the Bible really has to say about "Hell".

If we put down a loved dog or cat, why would God judge a human being and have him tortured forever? It would be better to be a dog or cat owned by the average human being, then to have a God (creator) to judge us and punish us like this forever. This makes no sense, so it better to follow Jesus and not our concepts of a failed or false loving Father. Only Jesus knows God and much more. We need to be extremely loving and infinitely forgiving; not to escape Hell and judgment, but to forget about God being against what he taught us. If we believe in Jesus, then God who taught us through him will not be a hypocrite to do otherwise, despite Bible scholars who don't really know God or Jesus that well.

The idea is to have people saved from dying forever (non-existence) after God's judgment. If I believe in a "dust" judgment (return to dust from which you came) then I believe in a non hypocritical God who taught to us by Jesus, to be loving, forgiving and just. However, if I believe in a torment judgment (no second death, for one is forever conscious of being), then it is impossible for me to obey Jesus out of love for our Father, I would be hating and fearful of a tyrant God who will get his way period. I tell you, either is really not that great, but the first is better and more realistic. A true outcome would be that every knee would bend and every heart confess in our Father and follow him through Jesus Christ, his son. Victory for Christ is to save the whole world. Satan could not even have one real victory. That would be nice and I highly admire a God who would love us so much as to help save the world, every soul.

A lot of you may know and have heard of Bill Wiese's testimony about experiencing hell for 23 minutes and if you haven't I suggest you check it out!

I listened to a recording of him talking about his experience just recently and it sent shivers down my spine. I have no doubt that his testimony would have the power to make a non christian pick up a bible and read it cover to cover...it really is a powerful message. I sent the recording to all my friends and they were equally freaked out by his in-depth description of what hell is like..some points he made:

1) You cannot die. Your body breaks and you feel the pain but you cannot die.

2) Demons in hell have a infinite hate for you and God.

3) You cannot breathe in hell. You gasp, trying to fill your lungs but you can't.

4) You hear the screams of billions of people as they are tortured.

5) There is no life in hell. Everything is dead.

6) There is a thick darkness always.

7) The smell is so toxic it has the power to kill but you cannot die. You have to endure it.

I am really crushed to know that when we are all judged some of us(mankind) will live in hell and will have to endure such torment forever. So we must make good use of our time on this earth and help those who are without god in their lives to discover their creator!

Wow. I've seen his book at Barnes & Noble. I believe his testimony. What link did you click on for the recording?
