Yeah, but maybe that is a good thing. Should we show children bananas? Most definitely not. The Olympics is an international event, so we must respect all cultures and keep the intro tame, as all the other Olympics were in the past. There is a reason why folks are fed up with the modern liberals nowadays, cos the liberal party in the US has moved far from what it used to be 25-50 years ago. I do not like the modern conservative party either. Both have become extreme over the past few years. So, we must come together, and keep things tamer here, and then people might treat each other with more respect, and earn my respect as well.

In the original times there were no Christians and Jesus had not come. So when Christianity did influence the world that stopped, obviously. It started again now in a rebellion and defiance and hatred of God. They will soon learn what nations get when that happens.

So Jesus didn't invent anything new in sitting down at a common table, taking bread and wine and sharing them with his disciples. What he did that was unique was the significance he assigned to them.

That exactly right and tests why the Kast Supper is so significant. Even Christ instituted the tradition of recognizing it's value in remembering him and what he was going to do.

This is honestly not an attack against Christians. It's an attack against the Christ. Oh that want you tweek the Christian noses. The problem is, it's not my nose they are tweeking. It's Christ's. The Olympic Games are not part of the Christian calendar. All this hand-wringing over tableaux celebrating the art of Paris is a bit of a side-show.

The artistic director is Thomas Jolly. He is also the director of the closing ceremony. The morally outraged should keep an eye out for more nudity then. Or perhaps just, you know, look away.

There were more people in the tableau than were in TLS painting, by a lot. Dionysius was featured. The Olympics have a connection to Greek mythology. Dionysius is the father of the Goddess of the Seine. The person who designed it has said his inspiration was a painting that, for all I know, is in Paris. TLS is art, not a religious document or a key element in Christianity. Getting upset it is being mocked is like being big mad that people picked on that dumb Mel Gibson movie.

Seriously, people need to calm down. It’s really not always about them. The world? It’s not out to get them. And if it is and it chooses staging a secular painting of a religious event at the Olympics as its “shots fired” action, seriously, you’re doing ok.

Seriously, people need to calm down.

Absolutely everyone needs to calm down. And if Olympic organizers find viewership is way down I hope they don't go home and kick their dogs. Not good for them to take out their frustrations on innocent parties. Maybe some good can come out of this though. Maybe future hosts cities will take from this and learn and ask do they really want high viewership of the Games? If not they can continue on. If they do well then they have come to see what they better not do.

Yeah sure. Just calmly go to your TV and click on national sports events and forget about the Olympics this year. Nice to honor your athletes when they come home though. They worked hard to get their medals.
