• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I deal with depression and OCD. Anxiety comes with the OCD. Also, I am really waning to find my wife. Not marry immediately, but just find her. It is very much on my mind a lot. Do you think the OCD and wife thing are connected? I'm a college male.

I'm praying for you. :prayer:

Your a male .. Its your nature to want a wife but I say wait until God find your that person someone.

It is logical thinking of the flesh to need a wife to experience love, communication, challenging financial circumstances such as the rent or home mortgage, unexpected tragedies such as loss of child, loved one, honesty that involves hidden past memory trauma or anger that could affect future circumstances that end in divorce:.
As for being spiritually Christ-like minded where focus is on how Jesus is super-confident and sinlessly healthy, and where maximum health for eternal life is promised for everyone who accepts and obey his rules of righteousness - then trophy-winning human successes like having a wife and kids, a decent career or business, having a flash house and car are minor compared to what we will achieve when Jesus returns and transforms us with new memory-perfected minds and injury-proof sinless bodies of spirituality, not sexuality where I believe heterosexual or homosexual behavior will be replaced by the full maximum benefits of Christ's pure guilt-free and depression-free joy because sin then would no longer attack virally that causes sexual frustration or criminal behavior .;'*';. If you have been diagnosed with OCD, yes, it is possible that something that gets "in" your mind can, unfortunately, run in circles there and make the situation worse. :(

Have you ever had a cognitive therapy? Or have you sought counseling from a pastor or someone else who helps in your church?

Oh, and you can reset your email preferences. Click on your UserCP (control panel) at the top of the screen, and you should see a list of subscribed threads. Click on "view all threads".
Clic the little box to the right of each thread you want to change. (It will be to the right of the notification frequency it's set to now.) Go to the bottom on the list and use the dropdown to select "no email notification" or whatever frequency you want. Then click "go".
You should be all set. :)

Is there a way to not get emails after somebody reaponds to a post?

But I mean, my desire seems stronger than most people.

Quicklinks - Edit options - under the private messaging section.

Try St. John's Wort for your OCD. Perfectly natural, give it a few weeks to start working.

It's not always so bad. My brother has OCD, and someone else close to the family. Doesn't bother either of them, though my brother had to learn to deal with letting someone wash their hands without immediately running in to dry the sink behind them. He's a great guy, and has a new girlfriend.

5-HTP is also very promising for OCD.

BTW, if you are taking any prescription meds, check with your doc. Especially on the St. John's wort.

I have had things with females that ended. It bothers me to have it and then lose it. Why can't something work out?

The more times you flip a coin the more chances you get that it comes out heads or tails. Its a numbers thing. Eventually it works out if you put in the effort to get past what doesn't work.
