Lions, yes. Girls that look like lions when they don't bursh their hair, no. :p :D

I beg to differ
I'm feeling really crummy about myself.

(this is a rare time where I'll admit I'm fishing for compliments. Seeing as how I've been doing well and this is the first time in two weeks I've doubted my appearance, the first one is the big one.)
you are a good looking guy, are smart, and you seem to have a healthy attitude most of the time, lol I know we do not allways agree on theology, but seriously, you are an ok guy, stop being so down on yourself

when are we going to get a pic of you?

Hmm, well now that you request one... Here we go. My hairstyle & clothing is really the kind that I spare for the park kinda setting that one is, mind you. :) And yes, the book in my hand is the Bible, I think I was reading out a passage from the Apostles.

OH. Maybe it's muscle?
I hope so, but again you can't really look at yourself in a critical way.....you have to get the opinion of others, and then figure out if it's flattery or if it's genuine. Which is another problem in itself. :sigh:

In the past couple months I've gained about 15 pounds. :sorry: Hence my feeling a bit insecure.

Take a measurement in three to five key places. You'll know your bodyfat percentage and can then figure out what is fat and what is muscle.

For men, about 10% is a good ideal. Under 10% and you can start to see ab definition. 5 to 6% is like fitenss model level. About 3% is essential body fat and is where you'll start to see health problems if you get close or under it. To get to that level requires absurd amounts of dedication, 8 meals a day and I hope you like chicken because that's about the only thing you can eat. ;)

Pftt 8 meals a day and chicken to get to 5% is lies, I am around that and I simply eat whenever I want, sometimes hardly anything in a day, sometimes I dont stop, and it for sure isnt all chicken.
Yes, but your body type is not the normal experience. I'm assuming you're an ectomorph.

Actually, 13-15% is better than 10%, considering 10% is about where you start sacrificing muscle.

I've never heard that concept. Muscle doesn't ahve to be sacrificed at a lower bodyfat percentage so long as the diet is correct. Of course, you're balancing more and more on a dietary knife edge the lower your bodyfat percentage gets so you have to ask yourself what your goals really are and why.

A lot of body builders will bulk up to that percentage before cutting back down. However, even the concept of bulking and cutting has strong and intelligent criticism. Trying to think of some references and coming up blank on a specific book and author. Gah! I'll have to ask a friend later. ;)

(I'm not licensed or formally studied in any dietary of body science area. Just an enthusiast.)

well thats just not true since body builders are much lower, i know a guy who worked the circuit and did body building almost as a religion for a while, he was down to 5 percent ... its a percentage of body lipids, not muscle tissue.
