Israel’s Victorious Six-Day War: Foundation for Fulfilling Prophecy

The success Israel secured in the aftermath of the Six-Day War gives us an indication that we could be coming close to the time of Christ’s return. Prophecies in the books of Joel, Zechariah and elsewhere in the Bible indicate an organized Jewish presence in Jerusalem before Christ’s second coming. For example, the prophetic book of Joel talks about the terrible time of destruction during the “Day of the Lord”—a time of dramatic events just before Christ returns. And notice it is addressed to “Zion, the mountain of the Lord,” which is a biblical name for Jerusalem.

“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand” (Joel 2:1 emphasis added throughout).

For this prophecy to make any sense and to be fulfilled, there will need to be an organized group of Jewish inhabitants in the land. Later in the chapter they are instructed to gather a wide variety of Jews, such as elders, priests, children, bride and bridegroom (Joel 2:16-17). A huge invading army will come over the land leaving it desolate: “… A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations” (Joel 2:2; see also Joel 2:3-11 and Joel chapter 1).
Christian docudrama sees Six Day War as prophecy fulfilled

Gordon Robertson, son of the outspoken conservative televangelist Pat Robertson, remembers being nine years old when his Southern Baptist pastor father sat the family down, Bibles at their side, to read and understand the ramifications of Israel’s recent victory in the 1967 Six Day War.

“We would normally talk about politics over the dinner table,” recalled Robertson, now 59, “but this was different, this was, ‘all right, everyone, open your Bibles, I’m going to walk you through the prophecies that were just fulfilled.'”

The Six-Day War was a brief but bloody conflict fought in June 1967 between Israel and the Arab states of Egypt, Syria and Jordan. Following years of diplomatic friction and skirmishes between Israel and its neighbors, Israel Defense Forces launched preemptive air strikes that crippled the air forces of Egypt and its allies. Israel then staged a successful ground offensive and seized the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. The brief war ended with a U.N.-brokered ceasefire, but it significantly altered the map of the Mideast and gave rise to lingering geopolitical friction.

We are continuing our series of animated historical videos on the modern wars with the Six-Day War of 1967, also known as the Third Arab–Israeli War during which Israel fought the alliance of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq. This conflict entered history as short, but decisive, as it took less than a week for hostilities to start and end, and was mostly decided in the air. Previously we have covered the battles of Stalingrad (http://bit.ly/2BVRheC) and Kursk (http://bit.ly/2BVR1MJ) within the II World War.

Yes! Jerusalem back in the hands of the Jews.

Basis for the fig tree, of learn the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 24.

    We have 3 critical elements.

    1. Israel a nation again, 1948
    2. Jerusalem in the hands of the Jews again, 1967

    3. The before, the 7 years, the end in Ezekiel 38-39. Jesus Himself speaking in Ezekiel 39:21-29 having returned to earth.

The present state of Israel is at best the last great push of European colonialism.

It is the fulfillment of NO Biblical prophecy.

    Instead it is anti-Israel.

And who do you think will come out of it?

I do not believe that 1967 was a fulfilment of prophecy. Other than a part of the House of Judah, as the 'fig tree budding', being their last hurrah, so to speak.
Many prophesies tell us they will be punished for their continued rejection of Jesus. Luke 19:27 and THEN, all the true Israelites, plus all those grafted in, will live in ALL of the holy Land.

Israel’s rebirth in the year 1948 and Jerusalem being recaptured in the year 1967 predicted in the Scriptures!

Did you know that in Ezekiel 4, G-d told the Jewish prophet Ezekiel to tell Israel that they would suffer 430 years of judgment for their sins? We know that we served the first 70 years of that judgment when our people were taken captive in Babylon. So what does all of this have to do with anything? Well, let’s first understand that in the Scripture, a year represents 360 days because it is based on the Hebrew calendar. From the time of our captivity in Babylon which began in 606 B.C., add 70 years X 360 days for each year, then take into account the calendar corrections they made in those years that were similar to our leap years, and they were in captivity for the equivalent of 69 years (as we count years). Now add 69 years to 606 B.C. and the Babylonian captivity ended in 537 B.C.

But did G-d just forget about the other 360 years? NO! G-d keeps His word. In Leviticus 26, G-d tells us four times that He will multiply his punishments on us 7 times if we do not obey Him the first time! Oh boy, you mean we will be under His judgment for 360 years X 7, or 2520 years? YES! Now, if you take the 2520 years and make the same adjustments for leap years and changes in calendars over the years and multiply the 360 days X 2520 years, you will have 907,200 days.

Now add 907,200 days to 537 B.C. (remember there is no 0 year) and you come to 1948! Do you remember David Ben Gurion declaring on international radio, using Ezekiel as his authority, the restoring to us of Israel as the new Jewish state?

Is G-d consistent? We also know that in 587 B.C. Jerusalem fell. If you add the same 69 Biblical years of captivity to 587 B.C., you come to 518 B.C. So let’s do it again. Add the 907,200 days to 518 B.C. (remember there is no ‘0’ year) and you come to 1967! You probably remember the stunning victory Israel had over her enemies. As a result of the “Six Day War”, Israel regained control of Jerusalem in the very year her punishment for disobedience ended!

Think about this... No other people group has ever been systematically exterminated, forced to renounce their beliefs and their language, yet still remains. No other people group has lost their language and got it back. Who am I talking about? The Jews. We are proof that the Scriptures speak the truth. Isaiah 66:8 Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Israel was!

Your whole premise is off because you fail to differentiate between Judah and Israel, as Ezekiel 4:4-6 does and so do all the other prophets.
Israel, the ten Northern tribes, was given 390 years. Plus X 7 for their continuing sins, Leviticus 26:21 A total of 2730 years, commencing about 715 BC, which is nearly completed.
Judah was given 40 years, plus seven times seven, Leviticus 26:24-28 A total of 1960 years, that commenced in 70 AD.

Also, a year is one orbit of the earth around the sun. Nothing more, nothing less.
