16% of US science teachers are creationists

16% of US science teachers are creationists

I suppose at least it's only 16%, but I'm still baffled how actual science teachers could reject such a large part of modern science.

Another scary bit:

It doesn't say exactly what they are teaching regarding creationism/ID. But the ones that may be advocating it, I wonder if they are familiar with the fact that it's a violation of US constitutional law (that whole Establishment Clause in the 1st Amendment dealy).

Which only proves one thing.

Indoctrination and brainwashing can make a body believe anything, anything,
even the rubbish that is creationism, Mormonism, Scientology, the list just goes on and on,
and we are supposed to be the dominant species, the one with the brains and the ability to think,
when all we do is invent Gods to pander to our egos, we are nothing but scared children, afraid of living and afraid of dying.

Because modern science doesn't prove diddly.

Not only do you scare easily but you are very gullible. Unless you can show us how modern science has proven anything over creation, you are just taking someones word for it...never a good idea. are schools not teaching we should think for ourselves these days?

  • Oh beautiful for spacious skies.
  • For amber waves of grain.
  • For purple mountain majesties.
  • Above the fruited plain.
  • America! America! God shed His grace on thee!
  • And crown Thy good with brotherhood.
  • From sea to shining sea.
  • Surely this is against the rules? if it's not could someone please clarify so that we can all start taking the mickey out of posts.

I agree, children are still dying of starvation and thirst by the thousands all over the world every day.
We're trying to evangelize the 10/40 Window so Hindus, for example, won't starve to death while "sacred cows" roam the streets right in front of them.

It's harder to do though, when they listen to those who claim Jesus and Brahma are just imaginary constructs.

Should they actually convert to Christianity, it would be curtains for the cows & chickens; and they could have their own versions of Bob Evans & Colonel Sanders.

Why try and convert them from one myth to another? why not dispel the myths altogether? the happiest and safest countries are the ones with the fewest myth believers, they are also the countries with the fewest child deaths as well, religions bring nothing but pain and suffering to a country.

I don't think you realize that God put within us a kind of sixth sense to cause us to be drawn to the spiritual world.

Where and what is the 'spiritual world' for you? is it some fantasy land you have conjured up in your imagination?
